I don't think so. The bloodloss and university mechanics add a lot to the game for the jaded minmax replayer.

Played CQM a while back when i was doing a playthrough with more characters - got to do the specific clam quests for Malk and Tremere iirc, was close to doing it with Nos as well. Wasn't overly impressed with it tbh. The poor voice-acting and implementing detracted a lot from the VtM experience overall (and don't get me wrong i know they had limited resources and i do appreciate their attempt to improve the game), the big problem is that a lot of shit from the quests didn't connect at all with the picture the vanilla game was painting. And the new "dance of the dragon" quest was just ugh. I played through it all and actually got a really cool backstory at the end which i really enjoyed, but the quest itself played out horribly.

I still don't get why there's no one willing/interested enough to cash in on the potential of one of the most interesting settings for role-playing games to take place in.

White Wolf got devoured bought by CCP.

CCP is famous for their sandbox MMO EVE Online.

They have a vaporware MMO World of Darkness in the works. CCP suits think licensing out VtM for single player PC RPG will hurt potential customer base of WoD MMO.

Creating a big fanbase for a single-player game in preparation for an mmo follow-up can work, see the elder scrolls. They're being mostly dumb imo.

There is also the matter of their new World of Darkness reboot...which is mostly shit lore-wise (for vampires and Werewolves), and for some time they were quite stubborn about burying the old WoD lines and promoting their newshit. At least now they recognizing and released 20th aniv edition of old VtM and WtA.

Excidium will have more/accurate info though.

Well I hope CCP suits become less anal about licensing old WoD product lines...but its unlikely

Well in theory they are not so anal about licensing considering the tabletop games are licensed to another publisher. But yeah you probably won't see a video game anytime soon, as they will hold the video game license hostage until the MMO comes out which so far looks like never.

How about a Mage the Ascension cRPG? Hell, a Hunter cRPG could be pretty fun, and that's one of the nWOD systems that doesn't suck.

Wesp's a super bro. I think he's the only sane modder who isn't a straight up drama-spewing fool. Word on the street is that he's got a legit job too.

Having said that, INSTALLING AS WE SPEAK BROS

So, it's been quite a while since I've played Bloodlines. Any of these patches/mods make it genuinely worth a replay?

"Sane" might be a bit much for a man who's been patching Bloodlines for...how many years. now?

Lasombra? I don't remember them being in the Bloodlines. Is this some kind of 'restored' content like that shitty library level?

it's worth it just for the ability to skip the sewer section alone. the rest is just optional bonus content.

there's also a really unique and creative way to bypass the chinatown guy who tortures you. it involves some cool detective work.

I liked the dance of the dragon quest a lot, and the tremere quest was awesome imo.

I suppose my use of "sane" is a relative term; namely in comparison to Tessera.

I would have LOVED to see Obsidian's take on this setting.

And will still have too. Fuck you CCP. Also fuck you SEGA.

The teleporting enemies in the Hallowbrook. I don't know if that was an official label or just one that fans attached to them.

Lasombra and Tzimisce are the primary clans associated with the Sabbat and since you can't play anything that looks like sabbat vampires it's easy to assume they're a completely different clan.

I know, I know. Still, better than nothing. I don't really need monstrous Sabbat to have fun with the Sabbat. Most of the monstrous ones are grunts anyway, and still it'd be possible to approximate them by mass-cloning Andrei, Pisha and maybe the Gargoyle or the Nossies.

Pretty sure CCP could do a better job with WoD than Obsidian ever would (that is, if this ends up not being vapourware...) From the scarce info they released, their take on the setting seems interesting, and their concept too(for a MMO...)
