Chalk me down as one of the "didn't really mind the sewers" crowd as well. I mean, I'll never say that I liked it in any way. But people are making too much drama out of it. As if it was somehow simultaneously the most difficult and the most annoying bit of gameplay ever devised by man. Mention the game and some people will go: "Oh right, those fucking sewers."

Of course it's also true that very few sewer scenes will ever be memorable in a positive way. Usually it's just filler to finish the game before deadline, or to achieve "OMG 40 hours of gameplay!!!" And of course the thing about sewer levels is that games often promise this awesome underground city of adventure, where the freaks come out and play, when in fact it's just the same old pipes and sludge. The reason I never played a Nosferatu in Bloodlines is that I'd already seen the sewers with other characters, and having to move through them most of the time doesn't look very appealing.

I guess in Bloodlines, people don't really expect the dungeon-crawling stuff, and they prefer the storyfag/sneaking thing. I don't remember the sewers being incredibly interesting either, except for the notes by sewer workers that you find scattered around (I don't even remember if that's the same sewers).

Actually you don't need to move through them most of the time, you can walk in streets just fine as long as you don't get too close to humans. But you do need to use sewers to travel between hubs instead of taking taxi which is less comfortable. But man, attempting to pick up chicks in bars is hilarious.

I really had a hard time remembering what sewers they were referring to.
I guess it's the sewers section when trying to reach the Nosferatu warrens?
Not exactly the high point of the game, yes, but it's not that you spend several hours down there.

I ran out of ammo about two thirds of the way into the sewers and just ran (and sneaked when the opportunity presented itself) through the rest of the way. Was a Ventrue too so no obfuscate or celerity to help out.

Does anyone happen to have any experience with the Final Nights mod by any chance?

Malkavian is p. good. especially after the added whispers in the Unofficial patch. Anyone has the mod that increases the whisper volume?

Best sewers in a video game = BG2. Discuss. :troll: Granted they had that usual Forgotten Realms dungeon syndrome where any whole deeper than 2 feet inevitably leads into ancient ruin/underdark/hell or a mix of all 3 so probably doesn't count as sewers.

My three playthroughs were Malk, Nos, and Tremere in that order. Although I found Tremere a bit too easy.

And how was the Nosferatu? I'm tempted to replay the game. Finished it with filthy Brujah and insane Malkavian.

Just installed for the first time in 8 years! Can't believe it came out in 2004...
Anyway, using the 8.8 patch, with the EnB extras, does anyone have some weird red symbol come on the screen for about 30 seconds after booting up? Really strange. Also, if anyone has tweaked the default settings in the EnB.ini what exactly have you altered? Some of the effects are glitchy, just not sure which ones to mess with..

None, But overall the mod looks quite good with some of the more interesting clans being available. But I have no idea if its compatible with the 8.8 patch which is what is stopping me from trying it after I finish my current play through.

Nosferatu has a few exclusives... and it's a bit different - you don't actually need to walk the sewers, just be aware of your distance to transients. Like 3d pak-man. The camarilla edition bloodloss timer make those sections also a bit less boring.

I think I had some strange issue like that - can't remember what I did, though...

Edit: Found it. Is that your issue?

It is based off of an older wesp patch for sure, hell even the latest Camarilla Edition is based off of wesp 8.5 + a few other minor fixes. Anyway decided to c/p my saves and reinstall the game to give it a go, so far looking decent. Changes all clans to new ones (going for a salubri the first run, going full tank).

Here's a list to the game mechanics changes, this of/c excludes clan changes and such: http://camarillaedition.darkbb.com/f34-game-mechanics

I think a lot of people miss the fact that you can regularly return to the surface to get ammo/blood without any backtracking - there's grates leading to the surface following every significant fight (and liberally spaced between those fights). Each interim exit takes you directly to the Hollywood weapons dealer, so restocking ammo is particularly convenient. Plus, once you use a grate to get to the surface and restock, the corresponding section of the sewer opens up, so you can go straight to where you left off with no backtracking.

There's never any reason to run out of ammo or bloodpacks. I suspect that most people either overlook the regular sewer exists completely, or they never use them because they think it wil require backtracking.

Yeah it's defiantly that same tribal symbol, don't have the Clan Quest Mod installed...unless that's part of the Plus Installation?

Doubt it, CQM uses Wesps Patch, not the other way round.
So it was probably related to ENB itself, not CQM. Unfortunately I can't offer you a solution - I had looked around for a while, but not found something either, iirc. Might be an issue on specific hardware. NVidia GPU?

I don't think I discovered those shortcuts to the surface until my second or third playthrough, and even then I never use them. Knowing how long the sewer level is, I always come prepared. Either that or I just noclip my way through.

The first time I played through Bloodlines, I got stuck in the last section of the sewer. I was out of ammo, out of blood, and I couldn't kill all the war ghouls, so I was basically running around dodging projectiles looking for the nosferatu haven for an hour. Then I got there and my computer died. No, really, the RAM on my laptop spontaneously shorted out. After buying new RAM I played for a while and then encountered the crash bug after the society of leopold. If memory serves I had to use a console command to get past that because the patch wasn't out yet.

I don't know why I love bloodlines as much as I do considering all the crap I've had to put up with playing it.

It depends how into 'larping' you can get or how patient you are to put it another way. Having to use the sewers or avoid LOS all the time does a lot for putting you in the feel of playing a pariah but at the same time, on a more mundane level, it starts to get annoying. If you're the type to want to maximize everything it's probably going to feel like a hassle but if you can get into it I actually liked my Nos almost as much as the Malk (the Malk really only one because of the superior dialogue actually). Nos is actually the closest I think I've felt to playing a vampire in a game instead of a superhero who drinks blood.

My next playthrough I want to play as a Gangrel, just so I can have that one conversation with Beckett (of which you cannot have otherwise). Then I remember that FUCKING WEREWOLF ENCOUNTER D:

People bitch about the sewers but not a peep about THAT fucking encounter?
