I'd be fine if Fargo just dispensed with all this forum bullshit and made the game he wanted to make. This whole thing does feel more like damage control than trying to give proper suggestions.

 

Yeah I said that before, I'm pretty sure the "fan forum" is just so that people feel involved with the game and to get hype and publicity for it.

I'm sure inXile will use some fan feedback, but it will only be from the official polls and such like they've done with the Kickstarter itself. For example, BF said he'll show some perspective mockups that people can vote on - I can see them doing stuff like that. Not scouring the forums and seeing Mr. Derp suggesting "dog pet you can train" and implementing it.

 

Please tell me there actually is a "Dog pet you can train" thread.

As for democracy, well doesn't Bethesda censor and ban all "unwanted" opinions? They want their romances, houses, pets, fags, "mature audience", so why the fuck wouldn't inXile have the right to moderate their own forums. Morons can't seem to comprehend they don't make or design the game. The game is set as they have envisioned it. And they sure as hell haven't envisioned Bioturd and Bethesda degenerates as target audience, but US, and WE don't want pets, romances, houses and other moronic shit. And the polls will show that and already do.

I don't think permanent housing would "seamlessly fit" into Wasteland universe. It's more of a Bethesda thing. If they want to give us something to store loot in, it would better be some vehicle with a trunk, like in Fallout 2.

 

It actually would be cool if by "house" it was actually a ranger center. That would make much more sense than owning an actual house, and it would possibly be a fun part of the game, ie recruiting/convincing/coercing a doctor to work in your ranger center, things like that. It wouldn't have to be shitty or "sims" like at all if it was done right.

Yeah, well ranger center should be an integral part of the game, because it WAS in the original. Hope they now how to integrate it properly.

That's why, for everybody's sake, I hope Brian Fargo and his team know what they are doing, and will only use input from fans when they intended to. For example to determine will the perspective be Top Down or Cavalier Oblique etc.

 

I don't know if it's Andy, but I'll be damned if it isn't a troll. Unless the world has gone insane while I wasn't looking. Seriously, there's no precedent for juggling in any rpg, so I doubt it's just a bioware/bethesda fan gone wild.

Anyway, it's just sad. For ten years we haven't had a proper "non-indie" crpg and still people are trolling and fucking up that possibility even if by a small margin, instead of collaborating our forces into something constructive and making it happen.

Yes, but I'm pretty sure there are bestiality mods for the TES-game if you look hard enough, though you don't see many people clamouring for hot Mutated Dog-Protagonist sex. Mods tend to attract a small audience. Still, it could be a real argument.
