    Wasteland 3 Announced

InXile Entertainment today announced Wasteland 3, which it's bringing simultaneously to PC, Xbox One, and PS4, Mac, and Linux--and it's doing it through crowdfunding site Fig.

Wasteland 3 also introduces team-based abilities and upgradeable vehicles. These can be used for travel and transportation, but also serve a function in combat. It can function as moveable cover, and InXile mentions that it can be equipped with a turret to attack enemies.

A release date for the game was not shared, but the Fig campaign launches on October 5 with a funding goal of $2.75 million.

"We’re going to have a fucking blast with it," Fargo told Polygon. "And it’s not just solving puzzles together. It’s about narrative multiplayer and what can happen when the two of us are in a world, independent of each other, doing other things on the map." Up to two players can each field a unique team of Rangers. When those teams are close together in the game world they’ll be able to take part in the same turn-based skirmishes. But when they’re apart, each player will have their own chance to move the campaign story forward, at times leading to a cascade of unintended consequences for the other player. "Let’s say that you’re sleeping and I go on a mission where there’s a sickness among some cattle," Fargo said. "I decide the resolve it by killing them all. You wake up and you’re notified that mission is complete.

"The other thing is that it’s great for conversations, a la Fallout 4"

Damn, I hate these close-ups. The isometric view is so much more pleasant.

Partnership with Brotherhood Games is cool though'.

You will probably be able to disable the close-up camera like in XCOM.

I'm more excited about explosive diarrhea, tbh. I tried Wasteland 2 twice, a year apart each time and I couldn't force myself to finish it.

That's a pretty good chunk of change. I imagine Fargo will be in full hype mode as well as release more sales/profit info to entice investors on the fence.

Partnership with the Stasis guys? At least the game will not look like shit this time.
I have no idea how they are going to implement that render quality without fixed iso backgrounds,,,,Sure they will show a snippet on the Fig launch.
Looks like a lite squad strategy rpg, who knows? maybe is nothing like wasteland 2 and does not suck.

Isn't this the rival party system in Van Buren that Chris talked about, but with multiplayer?
