Well I got a Wii U

It was given to me as a gift today from an aunt who "knows I am a gamer". Gee, thanks.

Why does it take so long to browse through the menus? I never saw anything like this, it takes FOREVER. It took more than one hour to do the system update. Even the PS3 is super fast, and the Xbox 360 wasn't as bad. The UI elements are so huge, it looks really out of place on a remotely large TV set.

And there is a grand total of 9 demos in the eShop one year after release, it says it all really. 9 DEMOS.

I tried the demo for Zombi U but the controls look so convoluted for this one, it really makes me not wanna play.

I'd almost return it, but I might keep it for a few Nintendo franchises like Zelda, Mario Kart and Donkey Kong.

I don't even know what to do with this stuff.

 

Wait and see if Bayonetta 2 isn't a cheap cash-in. If it isn't, play the crap out of that. If it is...well damn, you've got another Nintendo console with practically zero games worth more than a casual playthrough.

I guess that's what most Nintendo users play on their consoles. At least the people I know do that (only the latter two in that case).

 

Starting way back with Wii's horrendous game library, Nintendo's been very intent to remove themselves as a competitor in the console market. Wii U, with its stupid controller and not a single killer-game-title AT THIS LATE STAGE, is another profound step toward that goal.

Sell it on Craigslist if you can.

Well, I have one too. I play Nintendo Land stuff from time to time. I also have Lego City Underground, which is basically GTA sans violence and prostitutes. I'll be also getting Pikmin3 and that new Mario game.

As for the slow load times - try updating the firmware (by connecting to the net). It got much better since launch.

So far Mario is pretty much the only game that interests me, I might buy it later (used in order not to give money to Nintendo). Maybe that Shin'en shooter too but it mostly looks like a Super Stardust clone and I am tired of twin stick shooters.

I have only really used the YouTube app, I use it to stream Bible videos.

 

Hey now! At least that game inspired lots of Samus cosplay in tight unitards and bodypainting.

 

You know as lame as Nintendo is, when you think about the typical fratboy console owner who's like "Nintendo is for kids, I'm a real gamer! I'm going to get an Xbox to play my Gears of War clones!"... which company makes true games when you think of it?

 

WiiU is perfect console to play with GF who isn't much into gaming, so I'm not selling mine.

 

Use it to make hidden sex videos of your wife while her titties are still big from nursing but her body isn't totally ruined from crapping out your second child.

 

It's a gaming console (with underpowered hardware) with no games.

 

As if we needed another reason to mock HHR.

At least it is only lighthearted humor and it doesn't take itself seriously, and everything is lightly implied instead of rubbed in your face. It is only dressing for substantial gameplay.

I went and bought Mario, I could've as well picked at least one game for it.

 

Ironically Sony is the only console maker that does new interesting things with their games.

It genuinely disturbs me that there are Nintendo-exclusive fanboys out there. It must be torture waiting for the dozen or so games to be release for one console's entire lifespan.

 

There are some Wii games that are actually worth playing. Try these. I fail to see q good Wii U exclusive.

 

Nintendo manchildren are especially scary. The worst though is that's what many game bloggers are.
