Risen 1 is a very good game. Not as good as Gothic 1 and 2, and I would put ELEX slightly ahead of it as well, but still, very good quality. The first part is outstanding, and has all kinds of Gothic vibes. Then, it kinda turns into a lizardmanthon, and goes full retard toward the end, but still it's not that long (maybe total of 40-50 hours), so well worth it.

Why would you ever want to spend money on a Piranha Bytes game?
Aren't you one of those fucks who proclaimed their hatred of turn-based games and said shit like this:
I agree, but I also like at least some degree of manual dexterity involved, or rather active inputs that can change the outcome of events or combats. There needs to be some sort of balance.
Gothic 1 & 2 literally has that perfect balance, and here you are :hahano:

getting back on your feet and align to one of the two factions was neatly done

I liked the inversion of the typical that went on in them. The bandits are just bandits, greedy and small minded while the priests are assholes, but ultimately in the right in the measures they've taken given the threat.

The commander wanted you to commit genocide on them, seems like inherit to germans.

Just play Daggerfall and simply PRETEND that all the items are handplaced. Or you can just play the greatest RPG of all time: ELEX!
