The good part in Deadfire is not as good as New Vegas, but overall it's a less frustrating experience because it's less buggy, didn't crash as much and didn't require me to push the W button for 10 minutes before something interesting happens.

This is exactly why many codexers hate it.

Codexers are biased in favor of janky indies made on a shoestring budget. Technically competent games with decent production values are treated with skepticism.
