Whatever happened to Matt Seldon?

A horse of course

Thanks, Ed123. I will try it that way too, even though I'm quiet uncomfortable with stalking People i don't really know to that extend. But for the greater good... :D

Nothing wrong with an email briefly explaining your intentions (i.e. "I am not a serial killer") to SCUMMVM, a member of the band, an old co-worker or w/e. Worst case scenario they ignore you or reveal that the target victim subject doesn't want to be publically reachable.

In the latter case, Roguey is an expert in such matters

LOL... I'm still very much alive, not quite monk status, but living life to the full!

Glad to see you guys are still appreciating the soundtrack even after all these years. Unfortunately back then the budget was tight and us 3 young and inexperienced guys had to make this whole game out of our bedrooms... on my part I had an old 8 track tape machine, so sound quality of the master is not like modern technology. Most of it was actually sequenced through keyboards and then stitched together via timecode... hard work! Maybe someone one day will remix/remaster the whole album which would be amazing and they would have my full support!

Anyways I'm still around, lurking in the shadows, looking for my next creative project that I can get my head into.

Peace, love and respect to you all... thanks for bringing back some amazing memories of creating this, means a lot :)

Matt ;-)

wow. when someone from gaming actually replies in an online forum, that's rare

Matt, if you see this: thanks for one of the greatest soundtracks in gaming
how about you release it on Bandcamp so that everyone who likes your music and wants to support you has the ability to do so?
personally, i didn't even know there was a CD with remastered music, but it'd be great if that was made available as well (along with the actual game soundtrack, which is ace) along with any other music you've made since then, perhaps.

do you have a professional profile anywhere?

anyways, thanks for the listening enjoyment you've given so many people. all the best

LOL how the fuck did I even miss this thread? I consider the Dreamweb OST to be the definite cyberpunk soundtrack, it absolutely nailed the sound and the atmosphere. I'm pretty sure Alexander Brandon was also heavily influenced by it.

I made some slight edits/remixes for the Dreamweb LP, I guess this is a fitting place to post them.

As a bonus here is the Cyberpunk 2077 trailer with Dreamweb's "What went wrong" track (Matt actually commented on it):

Hello everyone!

Alberto here. New to the forum but long-time lurker myself. I thought I'd give you what I consider an amazing piece of news (well, if you are a fan of Dreamweb like I am!)

Matt and I discussed the release of a remastered version of the soundtrack .. and finally: it's here!

http://dreamweb-remastered.bandcamp.com
(Streaming and Digital Download)

You can get it on: dreamweb-remastered.bandcamp.com

It took me two full weeks to re-extract the audio, work on it and also to the graphics. But it was worth it, I still consider Matt's work on Dreamweb to be among the most inspirational in sci-fi, dystopian, cyberpunk (call it what you want).

The remastered edition is completely free, you don't have to pay for it and no one should make you pay for it - but obviously any donation is welcome so we can buy proper coffee!

I am in love with the Digipak layout so much that I am thinking to release a limited run of them, maybe.. who knows!

For the moment, here it is!
I hope you like it as much as I did while working on it. It's been a real honor for me. Enjoy!

:yeah:

Alberto RS Can you share anything about the process of remastering the audio? Do you know anything about the instruments that were used?

Hi Crane! Glad you liked it!

I was the mastering engineer in the sessions and also did the restoration, so yes I can share a lot (some stuff could be terribly geeky and could kill someone out of boredom!). I was thinking to talk about it in my next podcast, I hold a weekly podcast live from my recording studio here in Berlin, in which I talk about stuff that happens in the studio and random music production topics.

If you have specific questions, feel free to ask them here and I'll answer them. About the instruments used by Matt to compose and play the soundtrack, I was thinking to interview Matt in his spare time and record the interview, but he's a really busy man and I don't want to interfere too much with his private life and work. But I am definitely up for an interview! Heck, I am having goosebumps already :)

Hi Steve! A big fan of Dreamweb OST here. Do you happen to remember what gear Matt and you used back then?

So, for all of those wondering what Matt and I did after the Dreamweb soundtrack...we had a little project with my brother called "The Hutter Corp'. Named after the founding member of Kraftwerk, and also because the initials spelled THC (Google it...lol)
I have posted a track from that time (around 1995-96 if memory serves) on my Soundcloud page.. It has more 'Planet of the Apes' samples as it was a movie I was (and still am) obsessed with...
https://on.soundcloud.com/DqtAi

There are 4 more tracks from this period/project, and when I hit 10 Youtube subscribers and 10 Soundcloud followers I'll post them....heh

There is more new/original material coming very soon... cheers FP

Penultimate track from 'The Hutter Corp' project archive (with Matt) on Soundcloud....

https://on.soundcloud.com/DZHDX

There is one more....not sure Matt would want it posted...hah. We went a little 'crazy' one weekend and mashed up some Captain Beefheart riffs with the theme tune from a 1970 british TV show called 'Jason King' (the main character was Mike Myers inspiration for Austin Powers)....
If there is enough interest I'll post it for the sake of completion. Remember these tunes have sat on a hard drive for over 25 years so I think it's time they were set free..

Please share and comment on my Soundcloud... 2 new Fal$e Prophet tunes in the pipeline also, so subscribe so you don't miss them....
