And you can find this location by connecting the dots from an unrelated book found in a roadside caves with bandit summoning ritual gone wrong and paper map.

At which point he should be shot in the head because there is an ingame book in Oblivion that explicitly states it's not just some (perhaps temperate) rainforest but a fucking JUNGLE.
Because if you look at all the ash monsters closely, you can see that ash slaves face becomes slightly 'brittle' then caves in while they lose most intelligence and all spellcasting ability, then a proboscis, starts to grow out of the hole, and finally the whole body undergoes massive changes while the intelligence and spellcasting prowess returns and then vastly surpasses its original value.

You wish. It's tenth, maybe fifth at most.

I haven't played Morrowind for a second since like 2003, are there enough high quality seamless content-adding mods extant that I could just like throw a bunch of them in randomly and confuse myself about what was originally in the game and what I've added? The only Morrowind mod I ever liked was this near-seamless addition of an anti-slavery faction, did that kind of thing ever catch on or was it just custom houses as far as the eye could see?

Yeah, defunct smuggler's cave. I only found it because of the broken boat outside in the stream.

Gah, I realized no one will answer my mod question because the Bethesda posters don't come in the PCRPG forum

One day the console RPG forum is going to get bigger than PCRPG and there will be no more room in hell

If I had been updated on all things Morrowind I would have answered.
With the exception of Tamriel Rebuilt, I don't think many new quest mods have been made, and of the old ones few blend in very well with the vanilla game. Some (several mods) just have an NPC that offers travel to the new lands without any in game explanation as to why I would want to travel and no way to ask. Others (Glory Road) just force you to the new areas by having an NPC come up to you and force a teleporting potion down your throat despite it being recommended for characters of lvl 25 or higher (I guess some modders are afraid you'll just install their mod and then just forget about it. The horror). Others (Black Mill) make new interiors that are so absurdly big that they dwarf anything in the vanilla game.
Some mods are just house mods in disguise, with houses that are far more detailed than any of the vanilla ones.

Scourge of the Lich Father was an excellent mod, but have more detailed and talkative NPCs than the vanilla game.
JOG's mods - Booty Island and Havish - are my favorite Morrowind mods, but Havish feels more like Daggerfall done right than Morrowind, but then Havis is located outside Morrowind IIRC.
Illuminated Order was excellent and not too "out of place".
These mods focus on excellent quest design, while too many mods are just an excuse to show off the modders' skill in making new textures and meshes, which just makes the rest of the game look bad.

The closest to the vanilla feel was probably Korobal Island, but I never got very far with it.

The very worst was probably the large Silgrad Tower mod, which made all rumours be about a ship from the mod, replacing all other rumours. And it was heavily scripted to get that cinematic feel which led to bizarre results when normal NPCs got in the way of scripted NPCs, and scripted NPCs were invincible.

It didn't add, it merely expanded an existing non-joinable faction (if you're talking about any of the Twin Lamps mods).

Apart from TR, which adds content which is easily distinguishable for geographical reasons, I would recommend something called Hagge Island, the caveats being:

-it's mostly confined to geographically distinct location and it aims for more PS:T like approach to it's questline and dialogue which makes it instantly distinguishable from vanilla content, despite it being lore friendly
-it features some derpy mechanics (mainly terribad reputation system) and questionable quality assets (mostly crappy textures on some items)
-it's Polish only and all the efforts towards making 2.0 version and translations seem to have stalled quite a while ago.

I guess logically the way the scene works a modder would want to make a unique thing that you download and experience in one package, distinct from other mods, so they can harvest compliments and attention for it instead of just trying to subtly add in more game. Oh well.

Was that the one where you could choose to play either as the Slavers or as the Twin Lamps? It blended in quite well, using some already existing NPCs, like for example the Duke's daughter (who looked like Kelly Bundy when I played). It was slightly buggy, though.

Yes, sadly anything visually impressive will get much more attention than the most brilliantly written and designed quest mod.

Morrowind total conversion by the Nehrim guys. Haven't tried it yet, but judging from the general quality of their mods, this should be pretty good.

It's a seperate world entirely independent from Morrowind though, so it's more like a seperate game than what you're looking for, Gozma.

While the general community shunned this mod as savegame corrupting CTD causing,
as for openMW combat, for now they just want to only remake the game, so its plays like original.
But its open source so anyone with some programing knowedgle can redesign whatever they want

I think the game's too old to still be attractive to a good part of the bad "anyones"...
Hmm... someone reassure me, there's no hentai mod for Morrowind, is there ?

Anyway, i know the Morrowind Overhaul guys are going to get working on a global gameplay enhancement mod as a part of their project.
And they're good at fixing and blending together already existing mods.

There is only one mention of CTD within the comments. Said mention is about a bug when you start the game loaded from a quicksave or autosave. I don't see how that bug would cause it to be "shunned". Give a link to a thread since it would be interesting to see the criticism you speak of.

    I haven't. :smug:

I wrote some good things about Adul's Advanced Combat, but it's pretty minimalistic and doesn't really change basic mechanics.

It's also modular so you can pick components you want.

hentai? i assume the japs when crazy as soon as the CS got out, but otherwise there is alot of nude/sex/strap-ons/fetish gear/stuff out there.

and i remember a brothel mod being the talk of the town back in the Morrowind days.

They say that TES modders are second only to BG modders in how creepy and disturbing they can be. Or is it the other way around?
