most of this stuff is gimmick, all you need is a keyboard, mouse ,joystick

3d was a gimmick too to a lot of people. It looked shit at first until games like Quake and Tomb Raider came along. Actually try some VR stuff sometime. Elite Dangerous is a revelation in VR. Skyrim too. On their own they're really boring games but put on a VR headset and they become different and better, more immersive games. Boneworks is going to show off VR gameplay quite well when it comes out.

Pavlov (Counterstrike in VR) is also good fun. Wouldnt want to go back to flatscreen CS.
Since Pavlov added mod support I've been having so much fun harassing idiots on old CS and TF2 maps. There's something so cool about having to physically peek around corners and hoping there's no one there to blow your head off.
