Id wager Brandenburg is a buffer against DK.

 

Austria and Brandenburg alliance is obviously caused by Danish expansion and it make some sense, even if ultimately there can only be one major power in the HRE. Austrian-French alliance makes no sense at all. I can get that France was upset at my meddling with Burgundy but Austria should jump from joy not side with France.

I could maybe understand it if I marched on Vienna every five years and interfered with HRE affairs but as I am expanding into Asia there is literally no reason for such super alliance.

 

I might be a few minutes late tonight.

 

I suspect they plan a large scale invasion of Britannia and its continental dependencies.

Anywho. So if i am not mistaken the Alliance in the world so far is. Russia, Brandenburg, France and Austria vs the alliance of NO ONE ELSE!!! This is not going to get on sided at all.

Still alive somehow! And even growing. Brandenburg has 30k soldiers and 25k max mp now, truly a powerhouse of the ages.

 

I'm having Milan withdrawals, Sulimo

 

Poor sulimo missed it all.

I think I'd have fought to keep it though, with Russia at your back it would have been doable. And it's not like owning Milan makes you god tier or anything, though it does obviously threaten France.

 

It crossed my mind, but I couldn't bank on Russia taking on both Crimea and OE while I fought England and France.

 

In general I think it wouldnt be very fair of you to keep Milan. You wouldnt inherit it if Sulimo didnt leave the game.

Anyway highlights of the session from my point of view:
1. for one fucking hour we were setting the game up due to constant OOS, thanks Paradox
2. Portugal declared war on Algiers and dragged me in. I sank Aragonese fleet and a part of Castillan fleet and then landed 21k army in Algiers. Unfortunately I lost the battle there due to mountainous terrain. But in the end I didnt even want to commit so I peaced out with Portugal giving them one Algerian province. Lost my Defender of the Faith too, good riddance.
3. I annexed two of my vassals - Bosnia and Libya. Two more remain.
4. Once my regency ended I annexed Mamluks and parts of Jemen, force vassalized Tunis too, beat Timurids around a bit.
5. At the end of the session I declared war on Quara Qunlyu with the intent of vassalization or forcing them to release some minors.

Highlights in European affairs:
1. France expanded into HRE annexing some lands and vassalizing some minors. If this course continues I can see fast conflict with the Emperor.
2. Denmark collapsed into peasant war, lost some provinces, is currently very weak - only English help keeps it afloat.
3. Brandenburg grows a lot, annexing some vassals.
4. Austria inherited Milan - one of those freaky instant inheritances since no PU formed. It then agreed to release Milan as vassal.
5. Russia keeps on beating Lithuania and annexed one of its horde vassals. Released Ukraine as a vassal too.

And I was OOS which I hadn't quite realised before you told me that one of my provinces was controlled by rebels. The main part of my fleet was then not involved in the battle, just the light ships that wandered about.

 

Ye was wondering about that. I keep losing my trade fleets too, always forget to park them in safe spot during wartime.

 

So would my 35 other ships have turned the tide in that battle? Well, 14 of those were transports.

All this was so funny, I was out of words about what portugal did. When in truth I never saw what they did do.

 

After decades of never ending war, the Austrian lands of the Valois know peace.

There was plenty of growth to be had. Hungary gleefully joined in prosperity followed soon by Bohemia. Over the lands of Bavaria one can find the Emperor's waving proudly. Milan also wished to come under Austrian protection. Alas, in the interest of appeasing the jealous courts of Europe, the Emperor released Northern Italy as a gesture of peace and love.

Not all is well in Europe, however. A religious sickness has become an ever more growing cancer in the heart of the Empire. Severe steps will need to be taken soon if Christianity is to be saved from damnation.

 

After paying 1000 Gold in compensation Portugal snatched most of the north western african coast.

It was probably a retarded idea, I have no idea if it's really necessary to steer african-asian commerce in the right way, and it probably doesnt give much manpower and gold. Could be wrong didnt bother checking. On the positive side, I snatched a few gold provinces in Africa.

Spain and myself have come to a mutual understanding. I threatened and begged him at the same time. I guess he would rather that than than seeing me being a pain in the ass with a french english alliance or something. Or just just did it out of pity. I will get most of Africa, leaving most of the new world to him, except perhaps the Caribbean.


An important note : Ottoman's meddling into Europe and expansion took an abrupt end at the hand of my great nation.

We Utterly defeated the Ottomans army in the great Morocco-Portuguese conflict. We fought outnumbered, the Ottoman and Moroccan hordes seemingly endless. Their foul host was crushed in Morocco, leaving north Africa, to never return.
This date will be remembered as the day where Ottomans expansion ended. His hegemony is now terminated, Portugal having accomplished what the grand French-Austrian alliance couldn't.
Portugal is the shield of Europe.

If I remember correctly, he kept begging me and spamming for peace. Even thought I could have easily pushed into his empire and dismantle it, In all my generosity I allowed him to remain as it is, and accepted a light peace.

I spared him the humiliation. Pity stayed my blade. He was so pathetic that I didn't have the heart to harm him further.


Portugal was falling behind everyone, but I clearly re-inclined it. Now the map is more green than ever.

IN time Denmark will be back, but this setback was harsh and i lost my 6 1 5 king in favor of a 0 3 5 (or around that) So now i need time to rebuild my self. All i need is time.

 

Denmark was total disaster management.

 

Oh right you get some more provinces and trade power in Seville trade node by conquering Morocco, it makes some sense. But it will cost a lot of resources to core and convert. Granted Portugal has no need for a lot of ADM since it has not expanded.
