Hazeron Starship - A seamless space sandbox universe

What the heck? I had no idea this came out. I remember stumbling across Shores of Hazeron as a kid because I was interested in finding Gravity Well, a shareware game I played when I was really young. I guess it was made by the same guy? Hazeron looked amazing to me, but there was no way I...

Mystic Land: The Search for Maphaldo - Old school RPG inspired by W7 and EoB

I would agree that effectively permanently penalizing the players for not having a specific skill is a bad idea. I think giving a bonus for successful identification is a much better idea, like what newtmonkey said.

Fanstratics: A HoMM 3 Spiritual Successor

Right now, it doesn't. It's in the pre-planning stage, and if Greg never gets better then it might never exist. But as I've said here before, the best case scenario is that we get a successor to Heroes 3 or at least some kind of competent game to enjoy. The worst case scenario is that the game...

Fanstratics: A HoMM 3 Spiritual Successor

There is definitely something about the concept art for this game that I'm not a huge fan of. It kind of reminds me of the big blocky art from Heroes 5, or Warcraft. There is a place for that, but it isn't my personal cup of tea.

Dwarf Fortress now on Steam with a graphical overhaul

Well, it is still 5 months off on the horizon. Adventure mode is still barebones, though. It has a lot of content, even compared to some full games, but it is still very much the "side-project" of DF.

Dwarf Fortress now on Steam with a graphical overhaul

I mean, meh, whatever. The people who have been looking forward to the new adventure mode already knew that it was going to come at some point. I'm surprised there is a video at all. I just read the blog updates on bay12. I'm sure most everyone who owns the game knew it was coming at some point...

Mystic Land: The Search for Maphaldo - Old school RPG inspired by W7 and EoB

That lowercase "search" is killing me, but this is great! Also, you sound like a southern cowboy in your description text: But, after more than 25 years, we found all them early unfinished DOS versions, maps, concept art and documentation lying on old disks collecting dust.

Chrono Trigger fanboys really are a different breed of cunt

Nobody should have tried bringing up Final Fantasy to talk about good bosses. I love FF 5 in particular, but FF games don't even let you use half of your spells against the bosses. They're always immune to every status effect, so it just becomes a matter of dealing a lot of damage in-between...

Any exploration based RPG to recommend ??

If you're not afraid of JRPGs (who am I kidding? I know who I'm talking to), the Dragon Quest games have some really good exploration. Dragon Quest 7 has an insanely long campaign with lots of exploration and wandering. It has a ton of optional content, like collecting monsters, finding...

If anything, it would probably get the HD-2D treatment. I personally think the game still looks great, and I don't really see why it would need a remake. Really, what else do people want from the game?
