So bros, is Civilization: Call to Power any good?

CivFanatics have put together a big tribute for the Civilization Call To Power's 25th anniversary (similar to the recent Alpha Centauri one) covering some of the fan projects going on at the moment including new CTP fan communities, a stunning 4K AI upscale of the CTP1 cutscenes, a new stable...

Fanstratics: A HoMM 3 Spiritual Successor

Newsletter 42 is here. Greg has included part 2 of his E3 story however becuase his newsletters are now quarterly I don't remember sh*t about what was in part 1 lol. "...we touched down at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 4 PM (accounting for the three-hour time difference)...

Vapourware Star Trek: Infinite - grand strategy published by Paradox

What a shame.. just another case of a greedy publisher forcing a small dev team to rush out a game on a small budget and then pull the plug before they can put out all the resulting fires..

Civilization II is the best strategy and might be the best game of all time

Not quite the old Civ2 diplomacy screen anymore... https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/dune-civ2-tot-scenarios-development.285644/post-16588814

TBS Songs of Silence (Heroes of Might & Magic like game) - coming to Early Access on May 23rd

Yeah can't argue with most of that as I'm not a big fan of auto battlers or card games either for that matter.. however I like the art style and the rest of it still seems pretty HoMM like so it's caught my interest. I just looked at my original top post here and was thinking "Wait a sec I...

TBS Songs of Silence (Heroes of Might & Magic like game) - coming to Early Access on May 23rd

Doesn't look like you can control units which is a shame however you have real time spell casting controls in combat. In the second video down on the top post a guy plays a bunch of turns and goes into some battles and you see him casting various nasty spells on the enemy armies heavily...

TBS Songs of Silence (Heroes of Might & Magic like game) - coming to Early Access on May 23rd

Jeez they hit the target fast didn't they.. less than a day. Although it wasn't a huge amount and I don't see stretch goals. So I think they were a bit too conservative and missed a valuable opportunity to earn more money to help the game via either a higher goal or post 100% stretch goals. The...

RTS Command & Conquer Remastered Collection from Petroglyph

Oh man those classic controls in Dune 2 lol.. These days I generally play Dune 2 via Dune Dynasty engine (& sometimes Dune Legacy engine) as they use the original graphics but allow modern resolutions and controls like drawing boxes around groups of units. Plus they support the fan addon Super...

4X The Unsurpassed Brian Reynolds' Alpha Centauri thread

Yup good to see the 'mysterious' EA issue behind Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri only being on GoG and not on Steam as finally been resolved... also good to see all the old Command & Conquer games finally on there too. Now if we could just get 2K to do the same with Civ1 & 2 lol...

Resident Evil 1 'demake' for SEGA Genesis/Megadrive

Well like I said in my post above that's what they've mostly been doing over the last few years.. making and selling their own original commercial games.. this is more of a passion side project they can't sell for obvious reasons (although they take donations which could prob get them in trouble...

Resident Evil 1 'demake' for SEGA Genesis/Megadrive

Been a while so I thought I'd check in and see how the Bio Evil Genesis/Megadrive guys are doing. They've been mostly focuses on their other commercial games (Alien Cat 2, Hunter Girls, Black Jewel Reborn etc) over the last few years but have been more active on the Bio Evil project again more...
