  1. Inane news - Ray Muzyka is a dirty consoletard peasant

People promoting their own shit isn't disturbing. What's really disturbing is that there are legions of fanboys who lap it up without a healthy sense of skepticism.
  2. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is 25 hours long

Since developers pretty much always lie about how much content is in their game, I'll estimate that the game is more like 20 hours. With that said, it would be long enough. Deus Ex was longer but the game could have nixed a few levels.
  3. What did you hate about Dragon Age: Origins?

The game had a lot of little problems but I could have overlooked them had it not been for the biggest one -- the level scaling. Pretty much singlehandedly ruined the game for me.
  4. Editorial Mass Effect 2 Verdict

Ah OK. That's kinda stupid. Bioware should rename every one of their bipolar morality systems to "Bioware Good" and "Bioware Evil" since every one fails to disguise that it's just the same thing with a different name each time.
  5. Game News Dragon Age is too hard; 1st patch makes it easier

When I was playing Dragon Age, my party got ambushed in the forest while I was on the world map. A group of archers and a handful of goons attacked me. The archers launched that party stun arrow attack (scatter shot?) and then the enemy boss plus a few goons closed in. Two of my guys were...
  6. Editorial Mass Effect 2 Verdict

They went too far in dumbing this one down. THey should have at least kept in the Charm and Intimidate skills since that was a huge part of ME1. If you had a maxed out persuasion skill in Mass Effect you could talk your way out of the second to last battle. But at least the combat is better...
  7. Most pirated games of 2009

"hay guyz...let's get rid of dedicated servers it will cut down on piracy"
  8. 40$ Dragon Age DLC is coming

$30 is in line with typical expansion packs for the PC, but those are usually XPs that come about a year after the original game and presumably have that much more effort put into them. Does anyone believe that Bioware has really come up with a "Hordes of the Underdark" level of new content in...
  9. How conservative are you? What new shit do you want?

This is good insight and there is a lot of truth to this. I still think though that reviews do make a big difference to the sales of games despite the common perception that they don't make a difference at all. Dragon Age for example has sold very well, but if it had gotten shitty reviews I...
  10. How conservative are you? What new shit do you want?

I love advancements and innovations in gaming. The problem is, there have hardly been any in the last five years or so. What we have gotten in the last five years is not progress or innovation. It's dumbing down, stripping down, and gimping. Games like Bioshock have gotten undue credit for...
  11. The Arx Fatalis Thread

In theory, I agree with what you are saying, but in Arx Fatalis the rune recognition was horrible and you had to draw something sometimes three our four times to get it right. This made it worthless in combat against a tough enemy. In the end, I just repeatedly stored fireball in the saved...
  12. Dragon Age restored my faith in next gen RPG

I think that these problems you speak of stem from one basic cause. Dragon Age was conceived in 2002, when the technological bar was much lower and Bioware was still basking in the ridiculously inflated reviews for Neverwinter Nights. I don't think that Bioware had any intention of releasing...
  13. Dragon Age restored my faith in next gen RPG

I have read this about the technology elsewhere, but I have yet to see proof. The big zombie fight in RedCliffe, for example, wasn't very impressive. You clear out one wave of about 8 and then another wave magically appears so that your frame rate won't take a dive. That is one area where...
  14. Game News Divinity II - Ego Draconis Demo

I'm really torn about buying this. I loved DD but it I'm hearing really bad things about Divinity 2 and Beyond Divinity was not a very good game.
  15. What is the worst game you bought this year?

Does renting count as "buying" in this thread. Because if so, House of the Dead: Overkill for the Wii is my answer. That game sucks tremendously.
