Turn-Based Tactics Gears Tactics - turn-based tactics prequel to Gears of War

this game is much better than chimera squad, I can tell you that. the game nails feeling way overpowered while still being quite challenging at times (on difficulty 3/4). being able to move a little further to slam into cover or charging around finishing bad guys to give all your dudes extra...

Disco Elysium Pre-Release Thread [GO TO NEW THREAD]

I saw this only last week (which is why it's also still in the Google search result), so it's well separated from the split from Humble. But perhaps the website was just out of date.

Disco Elysium Pre-Release Thread [GO TO NEW THREAD]

The website definitely used to claim there was a deluxe edition with soundtrack and art book, which seems to have disappeared. Whether that is a good or bad sign is up to you to interpret. From memory it did not mention deluxe edition price.

Disco Elysium Pre-Release Thread [GO TO NEW THREAD]

i'd absolutely love this on switch. 60 hours is much easier if I can play it a bit at a time whenever and wherever I have a moment with instant pick up and resume.

if wasteland 2 was secretly mining bitcoin i'd be less offended about how badly it ran

X-COM XCOM 2 + War of the Chosen Expansion Thread

it also calms right down after the early stages. but super annoying if you're trying to play a difficulty above your skill level necessitating restarts

Civilization VI - Now available, so you can sink all your free time into it

With Civ5 requiring Steamworks they now have better good idea of what PCs people who played Civ5 are running. I would guess that they realised that a lot of their players are not using the latest and greatest specs that would be required for a significant graphical update. Not wanting to...

Obsidian DLC Survey - Results are in

Tbh I really doubt Obsidian would change publishers over a minor PR fuck up. Much more likely VersusEvil offered a lower % cut of sales for the same services.

Eternity Pillars of Eternity + The White March Expansion Thread

games stay at full price forever now with big sales 4 times a year because it appeals to people who buy games cos they're a fiver (even though they may never play them) and also people who aren't price sensitive enough to care and just want to play the game now. the same as chain pizza joints...

Eternity Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Pre-Release Thread [BETA RELEASED, GO TO NEW THREAD]

i recognise that this is just bait to start a shitfight but in order to make this assertion you'd need to know if the proportion of writers in video games who are women is higher than the proportion of professional writers who are women in all fields

Game News Tyranny Bastard's Wound expansion releasing on September 7th

Paradox has a lot of experience with DLC, I assume someone there did the sums.

    Atlus Persona 5

I do not watch anime and I like the persona games, but make no mistake - these games are triple distilled anime garbage

Horizon Zero Dawn - open world action-RPG from Guerilla Games - now on PC

Uncharted 4 is a good movie/game/indiana jones simulator but if you didn't like 3 I can't see you liking it enough to justify spending money on it. 3 was a step back from 2 but it's all the same shit really. I'm only a few hours in but am enjoying myself in a brainless walking simulator kinda...

Game News Pillars of Eternity II Fig Update #18: Ship Crew Stretch Goal, Final Hours

But more money. Which might be a good thing because it means they can sell it at full price to more people later, if it's mostly just crowdfunding fatigue/distrust of fig/less press than the original campaign. Or a bad thing if people really did think it was a bad game and aren't inclined to...
