I get where you're coming from, but this doesn't work that way unfortunately. If you balance around normal, then once people get better at your game it will suck, or lose build variability in the long run. If you balance around higher difficulties, it might feel that some elements are OP early...

They weren't viable for high-level play (UV+), and were being outperformed by grenade launchers in any niche they should theoretically shine.

    The Codex of Roguelikes

I'll allow myself for one last plug of the final FREE DEMO weekend before our August 1st Early Access release - as among other upgrades, ULTRAVIOLENCE difficulty is in, and the JupiterGuy has now a voice, by none other than Mark Meer (yes, Commander Shepard!) - be warned though, he has a foul...

Thanks for trying out the demo! I'll gladly reply to that, but I'd like to know what specifically you consider environmental interactivity environmental interactivity in NetHack. While JH is designed to be simple and streamlined (a gateway drug to classic roguelikes :P), we do want the game...

    The Codex of Roguelikes

Hey everyone! DoomRL/Jupiter Hell developer here! We're currently running a free, pre-release weekend demo for Jupiter Hell if you want to check it out! The setup is a bit wonky, because Steam doesn't know how to run free weekends on an unreleased game.

Game News Jupiter Hell now on Kickstarter [turn based, roguelike, top-down, pew-pew]

What we have is the best that our audio guy could save off the recording we did. The source audio was extremely weak, and there was significant background noise. Reshooting it was not possible due to the lack of equipment, and our dubbing attempt sounded really fake. The majority of people who...
