  1. Incline Elminage Gothic (former Japan only dungeon crawler)

Yeah Stargazers are their own personal level of hell. My strat for them was usually some version of the following: --Have ninja protect my alchemist that was 100% guaranteed to be targeted and slaughtered first --Have hunter fire off a lightning strike and pray it didn't get swallow returned...
  2. Incline Elminage Gothic (former Japan only dungeon crawler)

Probably, but if you've made it that far, you're already a glutton for punishment, so why the hell not. Incarnation is exponentially tougher than Nordetanit, but they did give him one semi-weakness that gives you a method to strategize against him, at least. One of my goals if I ever go back...
  3. Incline Elminage Gothic (former Japan only dungeon crawler)

Lord levels really slowly and is fairly optional, if you did decide you want one, best bet might be using your medal of power from the end of the main game and convert your fighter so you can keep all his current EXP. I will say the good thing about Court Sanctuary is it reaches a "good enough"...
  4. Incline Elminage Gothic (former Japan only dungeon crawler)

I guess the big question is what your party composition is right now. There's definitely not just one way to beat the game, but there are some quality of life aspects of certain characters that I feel like you have to have at least one or two of in your party to survive postgame. Ninja with...
  5. Incline Elminage Gothic (former Japan only dungeon crawler)

Yeah, some skills are more maxable than others. Stuff that has a hard cap like the ninja's behead, the samurai's swallow killer, and the lord's court sanctuary are probably realistic to max somewhere in postgame even if it takes some grinding. The ones like the attack and spell bonuses, and...
  6. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Yeah but in this case we're talking about intentionally making things hard, if you do any multiclassing it makes the whole discussion moot. Running an all-thief party would probably make me, for the first time ever in these games, actually pay attention to scrolls and one-time magic items and...
  7. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Yeah, and the fact that there's really no *terrible* party of six different classes speaks to the balance of the game. Of course you could make yourself miserable playing with like, six thieves or six mages or something silly.
  8. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

I feel like Ranger is one of those classes I kept trying to make "work" in 6/7 but they were always just OK at best. Actually one of these days I should try a runthrough of both games with an intentionally completely underwhelming party. Something like Fighter, Ranger, Thief, Alchemist...
  9. Incline Elminage Gothic (former Japan only dungeon crawler)

Yeah, infinite maps is a massively important quality of life cheat that I feel doesn't detract from the game in any way. I'd honestly rather make my own maps than have to deal with buying endless stacks of disposable ones at the beginning.
  10. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

In addition to possibly starting in a tough spot, I seem to remember there's also a bug where even though everyone comes over as level 5, their "miss chance" stat is calculated as if they're level 1. It corrects itself to the right value after one levelup, but until then they'll be miserable in...
  11. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Agreed on limiting class change to a single "promotion" like the above being the way to go. I think one underrated thing about having higher level characters in general is the improved saving rolls against spells and critical hits etc., and the crowd that obsesses with non-stop class changes...
  12. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Just maybe bring him out on one expedition to bump him up a few levels so he's not constantly failing and accidentally touching shit and getting cursed.
  13. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

If you could find enough ammo, an all gadgeteer party sounds like it would actually wreak havoc on the game once the omni gets maxed out or close to it. Boring tho.
  14. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Yeah it's one thing to just get the cool "peaceful" ending and the chance to fly with Bela, getting the ring is another story. IIRC it's just the keyword "love" they're looking for there, right? Not that it matters, you're still not including that in an answer to a yes/no question unless you...
  15. Wizardry The Wizardry Series Thread

Heh. It's definitely a stretch to figure this out on your own, I certainly didn't back in the day. If you're the experimental type, maybe you'd somehow notice that the cross is literally the only "important" item that the game lets you drop, and that would set off your spidey senses and at...
