4X Oriental Empires - 4X game set in ancient China

You're welcome! As a side note, I recently revisited the game and I would say, pick up the three kingdoms DLC - it gives some much needed depth to the character system and works with the grand campaign

That said, the application process for Shadow Empires is much more lenient

The changes I was thinking about are balancing and bugfixes. I feel like it is pretty reasonable to wait with a multiplayer commitment for those, especially considering how rapidly he is adressing them. Not to mention this game, being niche, and with its complexity had (and probably still has)...

The dev is pumping out updates every day. They are usually for minor stuff, balancing, etc., but many require a brand new start. It is not much of an issue if something affects one person, but in MP it is best to have as a polished product as possible. I think the best course of action is to...

Well, they had 100 initial readiness and 125 entrenchment Dear sir, may I interest You in the benefits of... ...artillery support?

Very much depends. Generally having independent artillery is better, and as Beowulf said, the barrage reduces entrenchment and readiness. So while they don't kill often, that makes it much, much easier for Your forces in the following assault. However siege infantry (inf+guns) are not bad, and...

Shadow Empire - planetary conquest from Advanced Tactics/Decisive Campaigns dev

Combined arms if You mean assault infantry (inf+tanks) are not great, but if the whole formation is motorized, or better, mechanized, they become extremely useful. The problem with tanks is they cost a whole lot and tend to take casualties when being attacked. Mixing them up with infantry helps...

So... You created some arbitrary rules Then, claimed the game does not fulfil the arbitrary rules, without providing any example or argument Therefore, game bad Oh boi But it continues - You say something about manual (why?), then provide a screenshot that does not show anything related to Your...

Well, You are wrong about most things, and the (admittedly not many) things You are not wrong about, You don't like - and those same things (fiddling, complexity, decisions, etc.) tend to be reasons why people in this thread seem to generally enjoy the game for - so Your posts are basically half...

Shadow Empire - planetary conquest from Advanced Tactics/Decisive Campaigns dev

Considering some of the fixes work only on a brand new game, I decided to roll a new planet and got something really interesting It orbits around Orange star at 0.1 AU. The atmosphere would be breathable, but it is rather hot, with temperatures around 70-80 degrees. There is a lot of liquid...

He basically said, that in turn based games simulating air is tricky to begin with. On top of that, he wanted air to be affected by planetary features - like ground units in SE already are - and considering different gravity, atmosphere, etc., there are a lot of coinciding factors that he does...

Go to management tab and choose model overview (the tab where You can check the design quality of your models). There, in one of the tabs You will have a table with qualities (if You did not change anything, all models would be set to none), just click the right column then

Have You tried paying Your troops? Wages affect morale, and morale affects how long do they stay in battle. Most battles where armour really achieves great results are because the tanks break through and the defenders panick. If they hold ground, You may suffer more casualties (as Your cannon...

Shadow Empire - planetary conquest from Advanced Tactics/Decisive Campaigns dev

From what I have seen from following LP's and my game, the AI is on a decent wargame level. It certainly understands the concept of cutting You off the supply lines, and cutting off Your expansion (and the fuckers do it constantly). On a more complex level it is hard to tell, but as an example -...
