Why so few games about Magic VS Tech?

They can work, but the issue is a lack of incentive to develop technology when magic already provide a solution to the most common problems. Why invent the cannon when you can cast a fireball? In order to coexist, either magic must be scarce, forgotten or known only to an elite of few persons...

Why so few games about Magic VS Tech?

From an evolutionary point of view it could be the other way around. If there are enough magic users around, there's no push to create machines or to approach problems from an engineering point of view. Who need medicine when you have magic healers? Who need fast means of transport when wizards...

Incline Unreal Engine 5: final nail of Unity's coffin?

Also, nowadays developers would spend 10x more budget in marketing rather than in the development of the game.

CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 + Phantom Liberty Expansion Thread

I know, but for TAA is a bit of hit or miss. In addition to the 'noise' and ghosting typical of TAA, not all borders are smoothed out. Count me among those who hate it :)

CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 + Phantom Liberty Expansion Thread

I ran CP2077 on a Ryzen 3400G (four core apu, 4.2GHz) with 16GB, a Samsung Evo 980 SSD and a GTX 2070 (non super) video card. Taking into account that I limit the graphic card performance, putting a soft limit on temperature (because it has some annoying, high pitched fans), so that it never...

CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 + Phantom Liberty Expansion Thread

Playable yes, especially after each patch reduces the LOD and pop-up distances as a mean to boost performance. I expect in a patch or two to see the return of the fog-of-war (I mean, the Cyberpunk world is supposed to be super polluted, right?). The best way to avoid mission breaking bugs is...

CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 + Phantom Liberty Expansion Thread

I'm still reading the official forums and even there there is little movement nowadays. It's mostly CDPR groupies and some lurkers like me who like to 'stir the pot' every now and then by telling them how much CP2077 sucks. :obviously: By now, CDPR fans will always respond to anybody casting...

Wing Commander 2 was the first game I preordered in my whole life. Another Chris Roberts addict here.

CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 + Phantom Liberty Expansion Thread

This is interesting: https://forums.cdprojektred.com/index.php?threads/is-this-why-the-ai-is-bugged.11076569/ The non-existent AI in the game is due to a deliberate choice to use a limited set of packages instead of complex behavior trees. This is the reason why NPCs only react to some actions...

I wonder what is going now inside CDPR but I bet the situation is spiraling out of control. This is comedy material

Actually the explanation of why that happens could be far worse (taken from the officialn forums, patch 1.1 thread):

So, this is the 'big' january update? They could have called it 1.07 for what it fixes (even less than 1.04). Also: They were running out of stuff to fix so they're now concentrating on small details :stupid:

Nice valentine card. I think I'll print it on cardboard and gift it to my wife on february 14th. I'll let you know her reaction :stupid: (PS: she bought me CP2077 as I gift, I would have gladly waited till the definitive edition, as I did for TW3. It's her fault if I was exposed to such decline...

CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 + Phantom Liberty Expansion Thread

Without knowing the absolute numbers it's not possible to say it's selling well. It's right in front of a 3 yrs old game and the first one is a indie. Also, January is a period of weak sales.
