    Good gaming channels on Youtube?

I often like Mark Brown's videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/McBacon1337 For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzOCkXsyIqo

    Quest compass and marker

"A newer approach to playstyle." I suppose they mean in terms of Assassin's Creed, but that was still funny.

    Quest compass and marker

Zelda: Breath of the Wild basically does this. Proves you can do it in a mainstream game and be successful. I think many developers just copy the established practices from other games, without thinking more deeply about it. I was hoping people would start copying (that aspect of) Zelda now...

Interview Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky on The Outer Worlds at PC Gamer

If I read it correctly, they're saying that an option is visible when you're close to meeting the requirement, but not otherwise. That sounds like a reasonable compromise. Doesn't spoil every option on the first playthrough, but keeps you from just missing something your current build aims to...

Game News Obsidian's new game is The Outer Worlds, a first-person sci-fi RPG set on a corporate space colony

Skill based with in-game skills affecting non-player-controlled things like recoil, going by the talk Tim Cain did last year.

Review 13 Shocking Facts about Fallout 4 That Will Forever Change the Way You Think about RPGs

Took me two days to read, but good review. The initial footage of Fallout 4 had me intrigued, because the world looked so much more colorful and varied than that of Fallout 3. Reading this, the game sounds worse than I could have imagined.

Game News Fallout 4 Announced (for real this time)

I'll focus on the positives. The colors are much better. Looks like a world I could have more fun exploring than the monotone FO3. The vault suit looks more like the spandex suit from FO1/2 again. But I guess they censored his ass crack.

Interview Bard's Tale IV Kickstarter campaign launching on June 2nd

My interest in this game was lukewarm until I read the following quotes: This is exactly what I feel most RPGs, and games in general, lack. More mystery. A greater sense of discovery. More unexpected stuff that don't just fit neatly into a predictable system. Of course, pulling it off isn't...

Game News Pillars of Eternity Kickstarter Update #90: Post-PDXCon Preview Blitz + New Screenshots

It's still in. Fuck yeah. I hope the hardest setting is really difficult, for a good challenge in subsequent runs.

    Fallout Underwhelmed by Fallout :(

I'm not sure how what you said relates to the part of my quote that you highlighted. My point was Fallout 2 improves on Fallout in terms of tech and features, so playing Fallout afterwards may be a bit frustrating because you're used to the conveniences and more polished nature (and bigger size)...

    Fallout Underwhelmed by Fallout :(

Fallout is great, but it should probably be played before Fallout 2, which improves a lot on the tech, scope and mechanics. When it comes to atmosphere, themes and locations, though, I think the original Fallout is the better game. The thing I probably like most about Fallout is the exploration...

Incline The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Wii U and Switch

Ok, cool. That's actually exactly what I like in the (good) Zelda games. Bombs, hookshot, boomerang, bow and other items are used continuously in both puzzle solving and combat... ...but some Zeldas are worse than others in that regard, and generally the 2D games work better than the 3D ones...

Incline The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Wii U and Switch

Wouldn't that just be another way to traverse a still empty world? But yeah, I'm hoping they have some ace up their sleeve regarding the purpose of the huge world. Maybe if they really make use of the scouting thing, where you have to spot things yourself and place the markers, the vastness...
