X-COM XCOM 2 + War of the Chosen Expansion Thread

So if I wanted to get into this game, is it recommended to play Xcom 2 vanilla, then load up the expansion? What's the deal with the DLCs (is the deluxe version worth it)? I ask because I could pickup the base game on sale, play it through, then pick up the expansion when it ends up on sale...

    The New DOOM Thread (2016)

Yes. Quake 2 was supposed to be an entirely different game unrelated to Quake 1. They had a new name picked out for it (or perhaps several candidates), but were unable to acquire the trademarks, so they just said fuck it and called it Quake 2.

Everyone says it is shit...but I liked it!

Counter Strike: Condition Zero Deleted Scenes. I had the Half Life mega set (with Blue Shift, Opposing Force, Team Fortress Classic, and CounterStrike discs), and I heard bad things about CZ, but I was so curious, and I like me some strike of the counters. I always thought the Half Life games...

It is actually the 5th most common resolution. 1080p 16:9 standard :negative:

Decline I thought we were done with mod-enforced megathreads?

Why not just create a new thread for 2015? That would be the most logical thing to do. Merging it all into one thread makes it weird if you ever wanted to go back and look at what games people were interested in back in 2014.

Lords of Waterdeep (and its expansion)

The iOS version is quite well done. Great UI, and easy to pass back and forth with friends while on a plane or bus ride. If you like the board version and have an iPad (or apparently, an iPhone, not sure if that's any good), it's a good pick up. It also appears the expansions have indeed made...

I stumbled across the Codex while seeking assistance in a revenge plot.

Poll: An Obsidian Vampire The Masquerade Game

I mean when it's phrased like, do you want another game like Bloodlines, my answer is yes, of course. However, the closest thing they've done would be Alpha Protocol, and that doesn't exactly give me a whole lot of faith in them competently making the non-rpg/story bits. Or are you saying it's...

Silvers. Are you guys all EU? I'm US West coast, not that it matters since I'm not sure I can MM with you anyway because of the new MM rules (DMG here).

    Your best fuck-ups

I believe I was playing a Rogue in D&D 4th edition. Being lazy and figuring we weren't going to get into any situations where alignment mattered that much, I declared myself as chaotic neutral. The rest of the party was varying levels of good. We are wandering around looking for quests, talking...

Necropolis, a procedurally generated "diabolical dungeon delve" from Harebrained Schemes

I like what their artists have going on. Hopefully the gameplay measures up. I'm less enthused about "SELF-AWARE DARK COMEDY" because it's hard to pull off and I feel games like this are better with minimal story. "LIVING ECOLOGY OF THREATS" sounds cool, but also sounds like something that will...

    The Codex of Roguelikes

That looks pretty cool, actually. I like kickstarters with something to actually show. While I probably won't back it, I'll definitely keep an eye on it.

    Incline Bayonetta 2

Itagaki's new game since Team Ninja exploded, Devil's Third, is also apparently a Wii U exclusive for some reason. Maybe some more action games will be arriving to the Wii U.

    The Codex of Roguelikes

Anyone heard anything about Sproggiwood? Apparently it's a new roguelike from the developers of Caves of Qud. It looks cutesy, and sounds like you have some town you upgrade in between dungeon runs that will help you progress, which sounds interesting. Might pick it up on a steam sale.
