What do you value the most in games?

The worldbuilding, especially if said game is an RPG. A world that is sublime and feels like it doesn't exist solely for the game to take place in is very rewarding by itself.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection now on Steam

I bet you also believe that activating the Halo array will bring upon the great journey.

    RPG difficulty

Usually the hard(er) difficulty setting. I generally avoid easy because I like a degree of challenge, and I avoid the hardest difficulty because it's often either badly designed (e.g: Skyrim), or too difficult for my tastes. Playing games on hard is generally rewarding because you must think...

What RPG(s) do you really like but are too ashamed to admit on the Codex?

I'm going to be boring and say FO3, TES 4 & 5. Not the best role-playing games, not the best action mechanics you can find in a game, but I had fun playing them. Good thing they have big mod collections. I found ME3 to be decent but in general it felt like a downgrade from ME2. Aside from the...

Star Wars Star Wars is no longer EA exclusive!

More Republic Commando-styled games. I'd like an Imperial Commando FPS story that isn't focused around the cliché of Imperials siding with the Rebels after a misfortunate event. It could take place during the Empire's reign, with the squad completing assignments across the galaxy, just like in...

Decline Why 95% of the "modern" cRPG are so lame?

Are games becoming more basic or have you refined your taste in RPGs over time? It's true that AAA games tend to be more bland because they aim for mass appeal. But it's also your taste that's changing over the years.

Lucasfilm Games brand resurrected by Disney

Disney's priorities when making a Star Wars product 1. Make sure there are enough good Asian characters to appease the Communist Party of China 2. Shoehorn an obscure "woke" political agendarelated to real life politics to pretend they aren't an uncaring corporation that should have been...

Star Wars Why I fell out of love with KOTOR

This is the single-player version of a Dota 2 player posting a wall of text about how much he hates game and how bad it is after clocking 3000 hours of gameplay.

When you want to add all of your interesting ideas in your game, but you can't flesh them out because you have a deadline to meet. This is what many quests feel like in Oblivion. Thankfully, it has mods that improve on most things. The biggest offenders for me are the repetitive forts, shrines...

any good game to finish in a week?

In all seriousness, have you played the Metro series? Each game is easily beatable within a week, even if you take your time with it. Each metro game took me ~20 hours to finish.
