  1. Quake Enhanced Edition

I hope they let MachineGames make the next Quake. They clearly know what they are doing.
  2. Good Doom/Heretic/Hexen WADs

Excuse me...WHAT?! I'm glad I'm no longer part of Doomworld. These people are nuts.
  3. DOOM Eternal - the sequel to the 2016 reboot - now with The Ancient Gods DLC

Anyone else think the game is straying a bit too much from the original Doom atmosphere? Doom 2016 had some standout levels like Argent Facility that really felt like Doom levels. Dark, non-linear, very industrial and kind of foreboding. Eternal goes too much in the World of Warcraft direction...
  4. God of War reboot - now on PC

Only played the first two on my PS2 and those had great gameplay. I'm hoping this one has engaging gameplay too.
  5. The STEAM Sales and Releases Thread

Had a rough period at work so I am looking for something to let some steam off. I'm a KKKodexer so you already know what kind of games I like. I want some new AAA game that is actually worth my money. If it's on sale even better. Thinking about Deathloop and Psychonauts 2 but not sure they're...
  6. Alien: Isolation

Great game right up until you get the flamethrower. After that it gets boring.
  7. Arkane Deathloop - first-person action game from Arkane set on a time loop island

Had a rough period at work so I'm itching for a new game but I gotta make it count....If I buy this I probably won't be able to buy another game for a while.
  8. KickStarter Psychonauts 2

Interested in this game. Is it worth 60 dollars? Also, just how woke is it? I can ignore it if it's here and there but if the entire game revolves around it then it's a pass for me.
  9. Arkane Deathloop - first-person action game from Arkane set on a time loop island

I want to buy a game for the weekend. Is this worth it? Is it worth 60 smackaroons? I love immersive sims and I know Arkane is good at that. I loved Prey.
  10. It's Dark souls 10 anniversary

I can't stress this enough. Developers don't trust the player to figure out games on their own anymore. It takes away from the joy of discovery. One of the examples that comes to mind is Doom Eternal, which while I like, is full of tutorials interrupting your gameplay showing you how to use...
  11. It's Dark souls 10 anniversary

One of the things I like about Dark Souls is that while it's clearly high fantasy, it also feels realistic at the same time.
  12. Arkane Deathloop - first-person action game from Arkane set on a time loop island

I have vague memories of Dishonored but one of the things that pissed me off about it is the sneaky way the put objective markers in the game. IIRC, there are these bone fragments that give you powers or whatever that are marked and they are always put near the main objective. This is almost as...
  13. It's Dark souls 10 anniversary

You could also make the argument that you die so many times that you can't help but memorize each section. But even after all these years, I still remember most of it.
  14. It's Dark souls 10 anniversary

One of the best games ever. One of the overlooked things about the game is the level design. Vast, non-linear and somehow you don't get lost.
