  1. Skill-gain system NOT based on numerical values and points

Bethesda's Elder Scrolls games (and it's Fallout-themed game) have skill gain based on action, without adding whole classes. You run, you get athletics, you use a sword, you get more sword skill. It has its own ways of cheesing the system, one being that everyone can get fully skilled in...
  2. You have X new messages

Also, haven't gotten to the slice and dice yet, not that it matters one way or the other. But, that aside, doesn't "Brobox" conjure up some weird images for you? It does for me. Do you want a brobox, 1eyedsnake?
  3. You have X new messages

The trans sisterhood of the Codex frowns upon your choice of terminology.
  4. Fixed that new Dragon Age trailer ...

I have to explain this? It's like when someone on the codex "fixes" a post, it's not about improving it, it's about making a joke. The change is mocking - i.e. they picked a lousy song for the trailer, so this "improves" it by using an even more ill-fitting song for the game's setting. The...
  5. SMAC or SMAX?

I think that's because the AI doesn't rush build or use supply crawlers and formers nearly as intelligently as humans do. Morgan's energy advantage, when marshaled properly, gives such a huge build time boost via rush building that it blows past any other faction with an industry advantage. AIs...
  6. Fixed that new Dragon Age trailer ...

Just thought this better captured the feeling of the scenes in the clip. Sorry for the trial version spam in the video ... wasn't willing to spend money on a video editor just for Team Codex lulz. Enjoy.
  7. SMAC or SMAX?

If you have a game that goes to end game you can stack some units with it on in cities and go nuts with orbitals and other mineral producing maneuvers and just let the land blow red and the worms come in piles. IIRC kitting out that way can help you worm farm too. Works great especially if you...
  8. Dragon Age gets ULTIMATE EPIC EDITION

ME2's DLC has been a lot better than DA:O's.
  9. SMAC or SMAX?

This, definitely. You don't have to actually put the new factions in your game session. Not this. They are the game's most powerful faction, thanks to supply crawlers and 'formered plateau solar collector energy farms. Energy gives you research, fuels your probe teams and the like, and...
  10. Which will be released first?

Duke Nukem Forever could actually win.
  11. DarkSpore Goes Visceral

The whole risk/reward loot system means that the harder you try for the better loot, the less likely you are to get it, with mathematical certainty. I don't think that's the way to go. A small fixed chance for a rare drop is better.
  12. Is Dawn of War 2 worth a damn?

<-- perpetualmotionmachine on Steam, would do co-op. I prefer Borderlands though ... PennyAnte there, PC only.
  13. Game News PS: T Available on GoG

Outstanding. Now just hook me up with some SMAC and I'm set.
  14. Is Dawn of War 2 worth a damn?

I thought the game was ok, but when single player is over, it's over ... a diablo-like that doesn't have permanent continuity/loot hunting like Diablo or Torchlight doesn't really work for me. The writing is pretty laughable. But, overall, it was ok. Never finished my second Chaos Rising...
  15. Game News Commander Shephard is dead? Not bloody likely.

It seems to me that Shepard is the robot now; it had the N7 insignia on it. So maybe his awareness was transferred into the 'bot to help him infiltrate the machine civilizations or otherwise go get the reapers. So he is now the Mass Effect version of the Million Dollar Man, and Bio...
