  1. 10 old games that have aged exceptionally well

PS:T looks great for 2011, especially with the high-res mod installed. So do most other Infinity Engine games, BG2 and IWD2 in particular come to mind (haven't played IWD1). Diablo 1 with some mods installed (e.g. The Hell) runs on high resolutions, the look of the game (atmosphere, monsters...
  2. Just reinstalled Morrowind, entered it as vanilla, and puked

Because no technical progress was achieved past that decade, and no great visionaries have moved the medium into territories that were previously unimaginable even to the likes of Murnau and Fritz Lang? Get out, you.
  3. Just reinstalled Morrowind, entered it as vanilla, and puked

Replaying Morrowind for pretty graphics sounds pretty weird, like watching a 20's movie and expecting an intricate plot or acting. I can see someone doing it for nostalgia, if anything.
  4. Risen - the last two chapters.

AFAIR almost every 1v1 encounter could be beaten easily if you just learn the enemy's attack pattern (some guys like Skeletons were pretty tough though, I think there was some randomness involved there, also those Lizards who rape you fast if you mess up). Fighting many opponents at once was...
  5. Dota 2 Discussion (~Boston Majors & Road to TI7~)

I don't get it... is there something wrong with heroes being STR/AGI/INT based? You sound very opinionated... Well, try to at least consider this. There are several things you are doing when in lane. You're trying to keep your lane as close to your tower without your tower hitting the enemy...
  6. Dota 2 Discussion (~Boston Majors & Road to TI7~)

Could you, like, give an example? Because I can't think of any, except getting stuck in terrain. Most of the stuff people assume to be "limitations" (like no mana bars) are there for balance reasons.
  7. Dota 2 Discussion (~Boston Majors & Road to TI7~)

MM is rating-based. When I play with my noob friends I never lose, since I get matched against opponents who are far worse than me. When I solo q I get relatively balanced games (and ppl buy/upgrade courier, ward, counterward, push, gank, etc etc). Your initial rating is based on what you...

If someone wants to party up add me on http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198047009914 (I play on EU)
  9. The most replayable game (PC or emulator)

Dota HoN Dota 2 (maybe, haven't played it yet)
  10. Dota 2 Discussion (~Boston Majors & Road to TI7~)

Any bros playing it? I got spare invites, wonder if any esteemed Codexians wanna join the fun. (Old time HoN player here).
  11. Dota/Moba, Card Games, and Rpgs are subtypes of Strategy

LOL what. Please watch any comp. level DOTA1/2 or HoN replays, hope you will reconsider.
  12. Dwarf Fortress

This game requires some research and dedication. Google for a tutorial, follow it through, play for several hours. A lot of people got hooked this way.
  13. Might and Magic 7 - 9

I had the misfortune to play it in my teens, when I was less choosy... It was a basically a half-finished game, making it impossible to enjoy it. Zero balance, world that made zero sense, etc.
  14. Let's play FFT 1.3 Easytype Complete

Aww, the memories. By the way, I'm impressed that you didn't re-roll your characters to get 70+ faith/brave. For those who don't know, Brave = % of activating a reaction skill, and say a 70% chance to Auto Potion feels hugely different from 50% and will save a lot of headache and reloading...
