  2. THQ on Dawn of War 3

" Now Dawn of War III, either way, is going to have a much larger strategic component to it, more of a global battle going on with little tactical things, sort of MMO-like." Sounds like they're going back to DoW1 with larger battles?
  3. Jagged Alliance following some kind of trend... Online

<strong>[ Announcement ]</strong> <p>After Company of Heroes Online, Settlers Online and Age of Empires Online strategy gamers can delight themselves in the fact that we will also see <strong>Jagged Alliance Online</strong> from <a href="http://www.rpgcodex.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=41790"...
  4. Age of Empires Online outed as Toony Reimagining

In a way I think it does look a bit like the first Age of Empires (not pure by setting), it had pretty bright colours as well for its time. My biggest fear would be that the Farmville part is the most developed or gets the most attention, that's just not interesting enough on its own.
  5. Age of Empires Online outed as Toony Reimagining

<strong>[ Update ]</strong> <p>Microsoft and Robot Entertainment (ex-Ensemble peeps) have revealed a new Age of Empires game, called <strong>Age of Empires Online</strong>, as part of yet another push of MS in the PC space. At first sight it may not sound or look like the Age of Empires we know...
  6. Trailer and Screenshots for Dawn of War II: Retribution

<strong>[ Trailer ]</strong> <p>As the <a href="http://www.tacticularcancer.com/#3384" title="Pirates are always right.">teasers hinted at</a>, Relic and THQ have announced a <strong>new stand-alone expansion pack</strong> for their RTS Dawn of War II at the GamesCom show...
  7. Pirate Orks coming to Dawn of War II

My guess: continuation of the Blood Ravens campaign and a mini-Ork campaign along with a couple of new units. If the gods are with us then we get IG as a new race as well and a revamped Last Stand mode.
  8. Pirate Orks coming to Dawn of War II

<strong>[ Announcement ]</strong> <p>Relic has been teasing something new for their sci-fi RTS <strong>Dawn of War II</strong> and it looks to involve Orks of the piratey kind. </p><p>Earlier this week they posted an <a href="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/391503/kbluddflagg1.jpg" title="A thing that...
  9. Julian Gollop on XCOM: I would've gone with Turn-Based

What he comments later on is pretty disheartening stuff as well: I'd be curious how much chance he would have if he would start knocking on Stardock's door or the door of Russian publishers. Those are the only ones who'd still want to make a proper turnbased game on PC.
  10. Kings and Castles crappy E3 trailer explained

It's hard to get facts out of those video blogs idd, especially if you have someone like Taylor on the front of it (it wouldn't be the first time he had to swallow promises back in). That being said, those blogs are being discussed a lot on the GPGnet boards and as that last video blog...
  11. Kings and Castles crappy E3 trailer explained

In the full E3 trailer there was a dragon near the end yeah, and in the last video blog that blonde, she used to be red-haired in the previous video blogs while giving explosive high-fives and coming near Chris Taylor's nuts. Not making this up. As for posting, it's been more than half a year...
  12. Kings and Castles crappy E3 trailer explained

<strong>[ Update ]</strong> <p>Remember that wonky E3 trailer for medieval fantasy RTS <strong>Kings and Castles</strong> (KaC) <a href="http://www.rpgcodex.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=45335">earlier this week</a>? Turns out that pretty much everything in that movie was "placeholder" stuff...
  13. Kings and Castles - Now with Airships & Jeremy Soule

You can rebuild those bridges too. The footage doesn't look convincing but they've only been working six months on this.
  14. SupCom 2

Best skirmish RTS of the year. It could be better as the research tree forces you to invest heavily into one path only (especially team games get b0rked because of this) and nukes are a bit too easy to acquire. It definitely lost some things (biggest omissions imo are more stealth/radar play...
  15. Dancing with StarCraft 2

Indeed, the same own style from more than 10 years ago. Nobody asked them to copy from recent RTSs (or even old RTSs which tried new things before StarCraft 1 came out); cover ain't sacred just like Strategic Zoom isn't. What a lot of people do want is for Blizzard to come up with something...
