Fallout Fallout 3 isn’t as bad as you think...

The Lamplighters, the vampire cult, and so on were all incredibly ass in Fallout 3. In addition to the vampire cult, the settlement where the quests start didn't make much sense to me. You look around the Bethesda games with the big raised bridges, very few of them are standing. You'd think the...

Fallout Playing Fallout 1 for the first time

But it was a feature everyone loved in Doom! I think the problem with it is that if you're in the middle of a gun fight, particularly with a lot of people, no one is going to legitimately know who shot who under most circumstances. The Fallout 1 NPCs turning hostile over getting a bullet that...

Fallout Playing Fallout 1 for the first time

Being able to tell a companion to move was nice, since they could block doorways and small paths.

Fallout Fallout 3 isn’t as bad as you think...

Right, but if you were going to build upon that, is that the route you would have gone? That Harold would now be a large tree in the middle of a grove, worshipped as a tree god? With the option to murder him?

Fallout Playing Fallout 1 for the first time

The Deathclaws were stupid. I have a feeling they did that just so you could have a Deathclaw as a companion. A dog is one thing, but you kind of have to make a Deathclaw smart enough to disguise itself to walk through most towns. Though, I will admit, the smart Spore Plant that plays chess was...

Fallout Fallout 3 isn’t as bad as you think...

It's not so much the fact the quests are goofy, it's how much they shit on everything that came before it. Since I skimmed through the pictures posted by Don Peste, Fallout 3 took a huge shit on Harold. What's he doing in Washington D.C.? Why did he mutate in to a full tree? Why did he become a...

RPGs allowing you to invest skill points freely

That's one of the big problems with the Elder Scrolls system. You know who does this system much better? Maxis with The Sims. One simple and should be obvious reason, too. The Sims only uses this system on skills that the Sim actually actively does and it's typically for things that are done for...

Is 3D still relevant in 2024

I got a 2070, and this was a while back before there was a 30x0 series. The 2080 was absolutely ridiculously priced and the 2070 was pretty cheap. I also left in the 1070, since apparently Space Engineers will use everything you have.

Is 3D still relevant in 2024

Just wanted to toss this in here. The last time I upgraded the graphics card in my computer, it wasn't for the 3D. It was so it could handle physics simulation better. Graphics are nice, but they're not gameplay. Physics can add a lot to gameplay, particularly in games like Space Engineers...

Baldur's Gate So... Which Studio Should Replace Larian As The Developer of Baldur's Gate 4?

I think the big problem with this is that Baldur's Gate is considered a story heavy game. The dungeon design can be fantastic, but if the story is a mess, that's the game to most people. It also doesn't help that there's a huge banquet of social justice tripe in it, which turned off a lot of...

Why bugthesda can't design a proper gun?

https://collection.nam.ac.uk/detail.php?acc=1992-08-157-1 Yup, you're absolutely on the mark there. I'd never heard of the Lewis Gun, but you can't look at the assault rifle and the Lewis Gun and not see the similarities.

Baldur's Gate So... Which Studio Should Replace Larian As The Developer of Baldur's Gate 4?

I think my point is that with the EE games, they started with the PC versions, added some bells and whistles, released that. Then they half assed the ports and that ported that shit to everything they possibly could as a cash grab. Now, given how willing they were to half ass things starting...

Baldur's Gate So... Which Studio Should Replace Larian As The Developer of Baldur's Gate 4?

I agree with this. I don't think they should have done it at all considering what they did with it. Go through and read the comments on the review of NWN on here, the original game. I reviewed it based on NWN as a game, and the OC was awful. Now, having said that, there's pages upon pages of...

Cain on Games - Tim Cain's new YouTube channel

It's also due to a complete lack of originality and creativity. Why do something new when you can push the reset button and repeat what the originators did the last time? Only this time, more gay and more diverse! It's that Tolkien paraphrased quote about evil not being able to create, only...

Empyrion Galactic Survival - finally out of early access

I don't know if they plant players' butts in seats now in the save game code now, but it used to be if you were playing with friends and the server disconnected, all the players that weren't piloting the ship would be stranded out in space where their location was when the game last saved. If...
