  1. KickStarter System Shock 1 Remake by Nightdive Studios

It's System Shock 1 if it looked better and had good controls. Basically what I wanted. I'd say it was significantly easier without mouselook once you managed to figure out the controls. You would just hide behind a corner so that only they very edge of your screen can see around it, the enemy...
  2. Resident Evil 2 Remake

I like the idea that Leon's inventory limit is actually dictated by his PDA, like he has to document everything he's carrying or he forgets it exists.
  3. Resident Evil 2 Remake

    > Second fastest-shipping game in the series > "Backfiring" Most games aren't going to outsell RE5.
  4. Resident Evil 2 Remake

Yes. How much you like the Ghost Survivor stuff is directly proportional to how much you liked Fourth Survivor.
  5. Resident Evil 2 Remake

Fair enough. Here's the article on it if you want: https://www.google.com/amp/s/screenrant.com/resident-evil-2-remake-alligator/amp/ If nothing else it confirms the other posters' suspicions that they originally didn't have the gator and then threw it in at the last moment because of fan...
  6. Resident Evil 2 Remake

I think it was fairly obvious from the big glowing orange button next to the obviously explosive tank how you were supposed to go about killing the gator. The hapless gator wasn't really a true bossfight, and (for some or most players) goes down in the same as he does in the remake, minus the...
  7. Resident Evil 2 Remake

Yeah, I recall that in the original to beat the alligator you just ran in a straight line down a hallway and hit a button, more or less. The remake improves on it but there's only so much you can do with something that wasn't very good in the first place.
  8. Resident Evil 2 Remake

For the alligator fight you literally just run left or right based on its really obvious cues. Leon runs automatically, you don't have to hold W. It's a set pattern - left, then right, then center, then shoot the gas pipe. Kind of surprised anybody had difficulty there.
  9. Resident Evil 2 Remake

    It says it's his debut.
  10. Resident Evil 2 Remake

This is like the exact opposite of how I felt. If you had asked me during my peak nostalgic, rose-tinted-goggles-days back in 2010 or so what the original RE2 was like, I would have described a game far more similar to the remake than the original RE2. To each his own, but there are a couple...
  11. Resident Evil 2 Remake

All the classic RE games kind of fall apart at the end, so it's kind of expected for me. The remake of RE1, as good as it is, has a bunch of puzzles in the lab that I've never bothered to complete without a guide simply because at that point the game's simply stopped being all that good. I...
  12. Resident Evil 2 Remake

9/10 times by the time a licker hears my walking footsteps I'm already past them. Their "searching" state is mostly just there to scare you into running or attacking. There are a couple of times where a licker is scripted to attack, but I'm generally able to just walk by them unless a certain...
  13. Resident Evil 2 Remake

Are they actually attacking you, or just moving toward you? I can get close to them with the standard WASD walking speed - they'll move to investigate the noise, but they won't actually attack unless they touch me or I start running. There is one time this happens (at least in Leon's campaign)...
  14. Resident Evil 2 Remake

https://www.reddit.com/r/residentevil/comments/aopzoh/re2mr_x_is_actually_extremely_fast_when_he/ He moves at 4X speed when searching rooms that aren't actually rendered. That's why it seems like he zeroes in on the player. Obviously there's some scripting going on too. But in general he's...
  15. Resident Evil 2 Remake

Mr. X isn't really supposed to be a challenging enemy in and of himself, he's supposed to punish you for getting lost, not knowing which areas you didn't clear zombies from, etc. He's more an environmental hazard than an enemy. It's probably the best thing they could have done with him. One of...
