    SMT IV was weak and crappy. Wimpy dungeon design, lame by-the-numbers plot, ugly demon art, and way too easy. The last good one was either Nocturne or Strange Journey, but if you can't stomach SMT 1 and 2 then you ain't no Megaten fan.

    Megaten is Wizardry with demonic Pokemon, not that hard to grasp. Lands of Lore is probably the best "Baby's first blobber." It's simple, varied, fun, etc etc. You might want to try World of Xeen or Eye of the Beholder if you want something older that isn't unpleasant looking. EoB is a bigger...

    I thought it was a lousy, boring decent clone and worst of all, absolutely mandatory. Plus, when you die in c-space you have to start over. At least OG Shock had the decency of keeping any solved sections solved. I can't imagine trying to muddle through the remake with trace and burn mechanics...
