    At least the enemies aren't spamming grenades at you constantly (I'm looking at you, Clear Sky).

    I'm fine with it being more 'open ended' than Soc, but apart from the shitty ending, the game also kinda lacks enough large scale shooting encounters with human enemies. Unless you actively go ahead and pick fights with everyone, you can go hours without fighting any human opponents.

    While I prefer Stalker over Metro games, this argument is just silly. Metro games occupy a sort of middle ground between Stalker and games like COD.

    On normal you get more loot and your "witcher sense" can easily detect loot stashes for you. In other words, play on hard. Loot is plentiful, anyway. Also, on hard enemies hit harder, you heal over time and game isn't paused when you enter your inventory. PS: Nightmare mode is meant for NG+...
