FNV The Professional perk

Is it just my imagination or is The Professional perk reference to Leon the Professional? You know, the gun, the cap, the glasses and the beard really remind me of Leon but I think he didn't have a coat and I don't know what does that plant in a flowerpot is doing there. Was there any official statement or someone from Obsidian wrote about it anywhere?

Yes.

The plant, stubble, coat, hat and sunglasses make it an undeniable reference to Luc Besson's great film "Leon".

Leon also had a plant that he cared for and carried everywhere. He always made sure to secure its safety if he had to escape somewhere or anything. So yeah, clearly a reference.

There are a quite a few movie references in New Vegas. I think most of them require the Wild Wasteland perk though. Leon is the only one in the vanilla version I think.
