Five things you didn't know about The Witcher 2 (spotted here http://content.usatoday.com/communities ... itcher-2/1).

Spot the reality. Each chapter of the game has at least 10 references to the real world -- including art, politics, history, and more. For example, one of the monsters – an especially nasty and huge one – happens to bear the name of a Jedi knight and porn actor (care to guess what it is?).

Nothing's set in stone. During the game, the political map of Northern Realms changes depending on the player's actions. There are 14 variations of this map -- kingdoms disappear, take over other kingdoms, and so forth.

100 is the new 30. Geralt is very, very old by human standards. In the year during which The Witcher 2 takes place, Geralt is more than 100 years old.

Give me a sign. There's a new magical sign (spells) in The Witcher's world: Heliotrope. The signs players saw in the original Witcher have been enhanced -- such as the Axii sign which now allows the player to influence NPCs during dialogue. Therefore, signs can sometimes be used outside of combat.

Blade runner. Geralt can buy or craft up to 77 different swords, 21 of which are silver swords dedicated to fighting monsters.

I bet that the ending is done similar to Divinity 2, a big cliffhanger that is resolved in a expansion.

I can't decide about the free game. Codex, I need your help! Which game would you choose from the following:

Beyond Divinity
Divine Divinity
Realms of Arkania 1+2
Realms of Arkania 3

If you don't choose Realms of Arkania 1+2 out of that list then you are a total faggot. Anyone who tells you otherwise is also a total faggot.

Beyond Divinity is not that good.
Now i have not played RoA, but i know that Beyond is kind of subpar.

I'd say DD to support Larian, since they're still alive and all, but I'm not sure if they'll actually see anything from it - I'd guess ZOG would compensate them for a digital "sale" of their game even if it was free, but maybe they entered into an agreement or something?

I'm torn between buying the digital version to fill out my lovely ZOG shelf, the proper version for the goodies, or waiting a year and buying it when it's £10 given my huge backlog and the fact that I really can't justify buying a game for full price any more unless the developer is my dad or something :( help me decide.

I think a sex change operation would be the way forward. It would make your happier.

I know they said there is gonna be a patch at release day to enable the game, so I dont know if this is how they'll do it or is my download fucked.

According to the site, you can only download 95% of the content. I think after release, the download will continue.

Bullshit. Geralt was no more than 50 at the end of the book saga and games are taking places supposedly 10 years later, so assuming time passed normally where he was during that decade, he's around 60 at most.
Doesn't change the fact everyone in the games is younger than they should be. Especially Dandellion looks very good for his 50 (he was 40 in the latest books, although looking more like 30).

You've preordered The Witcher 2 on GOG.com—and now you've bought it, too!—so here's where you can choose one of the five classic RPG’s we're giving away for free to everyone who's preordered. Click the button above to see the available games and make your choice now.

Since EU customers have to pay almost $16 USD more for The Witcher 2 than the rest of the world, we're giving them a $16 USD credit to spend on anything at GOG.com. Below you’ll find buttons to redeem your three bonus codes.
:salute:

I wonder what is so hard in adding support for different aspect ratios. Don't you just need to setup aspect ratio and appropriate vertical fov angle in DirectX? Hmm... Maybe adjusting the interface to different aspect ratios is problematic...

He was already above 50 during it.
Piotr Szczygielski: Ile (choćby w przybliżeniu) lat ma Geralt? Z naszego szacowania wynika, że około 45 lat...
AS: Ma (w chwili "Chrztu ognia") ponad pięćdziesiąt. Ale nie przyznaje się i nikomu nie powiedział, ile ponad.
However, this contradicts slightly what you can find in the matter of timeline in the books.

Right. The whole saga took place in around a year or so, meaning Geralt was still 'slightly above 50' at the end of it. That's still a far cry from 100.
