It's also pretty much how you would sneak in the military as well. Tightly packed and with the weapon ready.

It's not AP's sneaking animation that sucks. In fact this kind of detail shoudn't really matter except for graphic whores. It's the whole "stealth" system that is a PoS, because how can you claim a game has a proper "stealth approach" when most maps are nearly 100% linear corridor romps and shadows have no influence on the likelihood of being detected? That besides the fact the game has the plot cleverness of shoving in most special ops in broad daylight so all glory of the BLOOM may be seen, not that it'd matters anyway without the lack of a mechanic that makes shadow influence whether one will be detected or not, replaced by popamole radar and invisibility awesome buttons with cooldown, while third person perspective ruins any tension from sneaking, specially coupled with popamole cover and retarded radar and invisibility buttons.

I really hope Bethesda continue the Fallout series, I don't want another spin off anytime soon like Fallout: NV although it was good, and I hope they don't do a move like Bungie did (owners of the Halo series) which they sold the rights to Halo to 343 Industries.
