All I remembered from Pink (Redemption) is that he agreed to help out Christoff, but turns out he was an evil agent or something.
Flame dude, Ignus..hmm...He lied? I thought it was pretty clear cut about the master & apprentice relationship between both. Only that the TTO decided to turn Ignus against TNO near the finale.

It need not necessarily be Ignus. If you have him in your party, I think you normally get to face Vhailor instead. I you have both of them with you, it probably depends on your alignment and which one who likes you better. Going all team justice with Vhailor probably lands him in your camp, whereas practicing with Ignus would earn his friendship, or at least, attachment.

But of course, I really do not know for sure, these are just some general, unconfirmed observations.
