Considering the ultimate goal itt is for Phelot to become the King of Kings of
Africa the Southlands, the song linked in this update just fits perfectly. And the video that accompanies it is naturally taken from Warhammer.
By the way, the Pirates are unbalanced, of course, but they are by and far the best faction for winning sieges: you just build an army where everyone has ranged weapons, have them holding their positions in spread out formations near the fort and wait as they gradually slaughter all the enemy forces exposed, and the AI is too dumb to take cover instead of sticking out near the siege ladder like bullseyes. Then eventually they get pissed off and charge, which makes it even easier. 1/3rd Shooters, 1/3rd Pirate infantry with guns(Duellists and Quartermasters in particular) and 1/3rd Empire Cavalry is probably one of the most powerful combined forces you can make here.

The Staff
King of Kings
After the victories and looting, Phelot returned to imperial territory to both sell the results of the pillaging and to recruit more soldiers to make up for the several casualties Street Lethal suffered in the attempts of their enemies of disrupting their pillage. The profit this time was not as incredible as in their first looting, but still decent. After selling all the loot, Phelot visited the tavern to check if there was anyone worth recruiting there.
He found an interesting wizard instead, who for some funny reason lied at first he was a book seller, when in truth his merchandise was of a much edgier nature than books. A wizard selling a collection of allegedly legendary and magical weapons in the New World Markas the Wise is.
And among all his impressive collection, one item drew far more attention to Phelot. It looked exactly like it, in fact, as the Wizard allowed it to touch the staff, an aura of malice so great emanated from the weapon its bones shivered and for a long time since dying, Phelot remembered what is fear and terror again. Nevertheless, although wicked, the Staff of Nagash, the necromancer who wiped the once prosperous Tomb Kings Empire and left nothing but the corpses of his victims, is a mighty weapon, its touch of death capable of killing many in one single stroke, specially when combined with the momentum of a charge. However, would Phelot be able to contain its vile aura and not be cursed and corrupted by it?
Unfortunately, that answer won't come right now as the Staff of Nagash(which Markas insists on being the REAL STAFF OF NAGASH), is way too expensive for the current funds of Street Lethal, and Phelot's bones lack enough strength to be able to properly wield such a mighty weapon anyway. Yet, it hoped to meet Markas again once it is ready to wield THE STAFF. There was a tournament going on in New Altdorf as well, and this time it decided to try again, and not make the mistake of limiting his maneuvers with the staff by using it with a shield, and that in spite of it being wounded and not fully recovered from all the battles.
Except when it could charge from afar and use the staff properly to deliver significant hurt.
Being able to fight with the staff through a vastly more flexible manner more than made up sacrificing the shield, and the victories were piling up. Phelot emerged victorious through two phases, with eventually 16 fighters left.
It tried to organize his tournament mates into a smart team, letting the others fight each other and only engaging at melee to finish off what's left of them.
However, there was one very important fact. Its odds of success would only depend exclusively from its own actions once Phelot gets to the final match. If it gets unlucky, it could end with several rivals piling on it.
And in the third match, Phelot's team was utterly incompetent and failed, leaving it alone to fend off several foes. Fighting bravely, it managed to take down the first one,
But shortly after the first of them fell, the other striked Phelot faster than it could block, and there was even another one. At the moment all the team mates fell, its defeat already happened. What a shame.
After a recruitment drive and another failed tournament, Phelot ended in the imperial city of Domenica, where it rested to recover the broken bones and the wounded soldiers. When Street Lethal was finally ready for more action, A great battle was happening for the recently conquered Pirate stronghold, the pirates breaching through the walls. Phelot sailed to Black Rock to check the situation of the battle and then decide whether to provide support for the Empire or not depending on the odds.
Cry of the Black Birds
The pirates were driven out of Black Rock and engaged in the open, where they would be much weaker. As they were vastly outnumbered, Phelot decided to take a share of this glory, and also contribute by ensuring the forces of the Empire will take lesser casualties through the tactical wit of making its small force make a major difference.
The Infantry and shooters were ordered to hold their ground to the left flank, the former protected by some minor terrain elevations, and ordered to protect the shooters against enemy melee fighters. All obviously were in loose formations to reduce the effectiveness of the enemy firearms.
Then Phelot waited for the forces of the Emprah to charge into battle, with its small cavalry following the boss. As the swords clashed, Phelot boldly charged against the lines of pirates.
Although initially the pirates delivered significant casualties in their volleys of fire, once the battle became a melee, they begin to suffer heavy losses, specially as Street Lethal shooters provided fire support from the left flank uphill. Phelot, in spite of more than one of them trying to shoot it, continued to ride across the battlefield followed by his two skeletal buddies.
The excellent riding skills of the boss helped for sure as several musket and rifle shots missed the skeleton and the horse, and at melee, they simply had no change, much of their lines being broken by the mighty Inner Circle Knights as well. Phelot became a killer in this battle of Black Rock, and had a very important role in putting the enemy in disarray, even as all the other skeletal cavalry fell.
After slaughter over half a dozen of foes, Phelot took down one of the Pirate Captains, boldly proceeding with the attack despite being a very sought target by the pirate gunners. The loss of one of their captains shoved their already weak morale even further down, but in spite of that, they were quite brave for pirates, apparently determined to fight to the last man here instead of retreating.
However, eventually the horse was shot down, and a massive horde of pirates charged at Phelot, who was not athletic enough to keep them from completely overwhelming it or to run to somewhere with backup. The boss fell again, after fighting with utmost bravery and setting up the grounds for a devastating victory, for at this point, the enemy resistance was completely routed and disorganized, their lines broken thanks to the bravery of Street Lethal and of the Knights of Sigmar.
The first phase of the battle was won with relatively small losses for Street Lethal, considering the scale of this battle. However, there were more of them to finish off, and Phelot was too broken to participate of its conclusion.
But Street Lethal, inspired by the valour and honour of Phelot, charged together with the imperial forces against the remaining forty and such pirates, achieving a devastating victory.
And even better, this battle became profitable as well, because Captain Nathan Hawkins, who was struck down by Phelot's bold charge, was naturally captured by the gang, and will experience their hospitality until the Pirate Kingdom offers a generous ransom for the Captain. With the battle over, Street Lethal travelled through the Empire Colonies to recruit men to fill in for their casualties, and then rested in Black Rock to recover.
Oh... that is not profitable at all, to wait doing nothing for days while the marshall is assembling an army, or to be forced to follow this army on land rather than to travel by sea. Better to wrap up as much profitable warmongering as possible during the four days they have to answer such call.
Realizing their demise, the Tomb Kings also go in for a killing blow. The Pirates are in a tight situation.
The Marshall proved to be an incompetent buffoon, what a surprise.
For Street Lethal this is good news, because it means they are no longer obliged to follow the marshall pointlessly instead of looting villages for blings. In the next day, they casted their sails to raid another one.
Emer was relatively isolated from the other Pirate strongholds. There was even a chance of no battle being needed for this.
PROFIT!!!
Not the best pillage, but not bad either. Why stop at here? As soon as this gets sold, another target will be located and pillaged.
The Pirate holdings in West Southlands could be good targets. They probably don't expect such a bold action far behind enemy lines.
Or maybe it is not such a good idea. Upon realizing the size of the Pirate army protecting this region, they immediately set sail away from this region.
Hopefully this Count won't bother the gang with futile calls. There was another relatively isolated pirate stronghold, in the same island where their town of Shadowport is. It would be very bold to loot there, but being bold is a fundamental part of being Street Lethal.
While one of the villages around Shadowport was looted, the skeleton was reading a book calmly, as the Pirates rushed to counter this, but they were too late already.
BOOZE AND HOOKERS!
With the extra denars made from selling all this loot in one of the Lizardmen towns, Phelot wisely sought to purchase another business. It met the guildmaster of this Lizardman town, which funnily is a bald human, but why would the Lizardmen allow a human to be their guildmaster...
Unless...
This is enough to almost cover all Street Lethal expenses. They are almost becoming self-sufficient. This couldn't be any better, whether the guildmaster is a Lizardman who shapeshifted into a human or not.
Maybe it would have been better to purchase the Staff of Nagash, but Phelot isn't strong enough to wield it properly yet in any case, although now it is strong enough to don dark elf armor, no matter how ridiculous it looks on it, thus what will happen once the boss touches such an accursed but immensely powerful staff will remain as a mystery.
