I actually enjoyed spellforce series a lot but then I was allways a sucker for strategy/rpg hybrids. If you want a diablo like with strategy its pretty good. Some parts were drawn out but I still enjoyed 100 or whatever hours I put in the whole series.

So, what are these Spellforce games?

Well, obviously the opinions vary on them.
I enjoyed them, as well.
The basic premise is: Some time ago powerful mages waged a war. Due to needing lots of (experienced) troops, they came up with runes. Each rune can bind a being in the state of when the ritual was performed and can summon said being again and again.
Not only normal troops were bound, but heroes as well. Finally, the mages almost destroyed the world (all that remains are isolated shards or islands), which ended the war. Your avatar is one of those heroes who has regained his own rune and has therefore regained his freedom, as well as the ability to go up in levels (the rpg part). Over the course of the game you find runes for different units you can then build at rune portals (if certain pre-requisites are met). You can use them to build your army and fight the enemies army (the rts part).
Some areas are just your hero and some allies (summoned heroes) against monsters and such, most are RTS areas were you sooner or later have to build up your army.

IMHO, it's an interesting mix, but indeed not overly deep in either part. The charm comes from the combination.

They always do that, though. At least now it doesn't eat into the time of the original sale.

It already has. Old sales would save repeats for final days. This one has them every day.

Probably upset because this sale -- which is supposed to the preeminent sale as far as digital download sales go -- is a shell of its former self. To have an 'encore weekend' when the entire sale itself was nothing but about sixty or so games repeated three to four times already is laughable. Especially when a lot of other titles went un-featured... such as New Vegas and its DLC that you were looking for~

I understand why he would be disappointed by the sale in general, but why about making it longer? How does that have any negative influence on anything?

Okay, you faggots, enough whining about the sale.

For anyone who's interested, Basilisk Games are having a 4-day sale on the Eschalon titles, and they promise Steam keys if they're requested.

Eschalon: Book I for $2.95
Eschalon: Book II for $4.95

You'll have to go through their website, but otherwise no worries.

I picked up Warlock - Master of the Arcane and DLC. I probably could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere, but I have a steam gift card to use up.

...And then I realise that this brought me up to 800 steamcount, so it's probably the other way around.
