mindx2 will not be happy.

I know. :( He's going to be missing out. I should have asked him what tier he wanted and hold one for him. But even now with the KS going so fucking crazy It would probably get taken the second I backed out of it.
Don't fret my friends. I snuck onto a computer at work this morning and grabbed one of the first $250 tier spots. :love:My only dilemma was should I go with the $500 tier, I would really love to have this signed box next to my Wasteland 2 signed box. :hmmm:

It soothes the soul after that horrible Thief debacle yesterday, does it not?
Please don't spoil my KS high with that thought or Garriott's travesty to come. ;)

Shit, you have to be careful not to blink or you just might miss the 900k goal, at the speed it's going right now we may not notice as it passes us by.

I eared Chris Taylor is curling up on the floor right now, holding its head between its hands screaming "But I saw the kickstarter fatigue ! It is real ! I saw it !"

Project: Eternity
It had a very good gameplay. The gameplay was centered around exploration of the setting and the plot. You know - doing all those quests, learning about various factions and your plight, solving puzzles, going through dialogue trees, making choices, etc. PS:T is a prime example of the gameplay being used as a medium for telling a story.

So, while reading a novel, flipping to the next page is gameplay? Because that's what nearly every system in PS:T represents -- flipping to the next page of the story.

No, gameplay is what a player does. Reading on its own is not gameplay, BUT reading and using the acquired knowledge to make an informed decision and progressing in the game is one.

It's about how it gives you feedback (text), you processing the data and making the actual decision (solving a puzzle, or completing a quest in this or that way).

Almost every dialog tree revolves around dispensing lore. There are a couple dialogs here and there where you need to have been paying attention. But those are few and far between.

Ok, I'll say this in red: It is impossible for a human to progress in Planescape: Torment if you don't comprehend the text and act upon it. One could assume that because PS:T requires an informed and thoughtful action on the part of the "reader" it is a game.

I mean this assumption was an inherent part of computer text adventure games, and PnP RPGs. This is the gameplay in them.

If you don't agree than please give your own definition of gameplay.

Kickstarter fatigue, what a joke. Put together a pitch that isn't total dogshit (highly recognizable names help) and watch the money come in. Games journalism is awful.

You know it, brother. I got some Dickweed Games Journalism Fatique right here.
