I miss my custom title thingywotsit. How does one reinstate that.

I believe the sum of $100 dollars has been mentioned somewhere...
Oh, I thought I was special, due to being on the staff emeritus page. Which is no longer there. So... never mind.

That's a big step in the right direction. As far as the next move, I suggest changing the name of the site to Communex!
Nah, but I agree that we shouldn't stop with avatars, and premoderate nicknames also which should only be selected from a list of famous crpg characters like Rance etc. Even better, link the nick to a selected avatar.

Was playing Talisman which reminded me of the old board game Dark Tower. Google-fu found:

Art in this game was amazing. And the game was so epic only Orson Welles could do the commercial!

So when are you going to fix/remove the stupid scaling?
I'm still 2x larger and pixelated to fuck, this is ridiculous. Avatar looks normal in profile window, though, but then gets raped out of proportions on forum page. I used to circumvent that "feature" by padding my own png with extra space.
(X-COM avatars used to be fine in phpBB btw.)

EDIT: FIXD; THANX, NO LONGER FAT ;)

Yeah, I'm slowly fixing the galleries that must be fixed. Unfortunately some of them are beyond all hope because of the awful jpeg quality, though.

Give us a list of the irreparable ones. People might volunteer to provide PNG replacements.

Yeah I will, someday when I'm done combing them through. Might take some time.

I feel I would be remiss in my duties if I didn't put together a pack of Space Quest avatars, so... I put together a small pack of Space Quest avatars.

Those are jpegs :( For pixel art, you should rip/crop avatars from original png (or gif) images (either as they are or upscaled to 200% with nearest neighbor) -- e.g. like the ones on this page: http://www.falselogic.net/LetsPlay/SpaceQuest.html

EDIT: Space Quest database has some images you could download that could do, like the one on this page for example: http://www.spacequest.net/index.php/page/database.html/_/character/fester-blatz-r29

I'm sure it's possible to find nice and crisp png/gif Space Quest images on the web if you look for them.

My fault, I actually converted them to jpegs.
Here they are (plus a couple more) as .gifs.

Good thing custom avatars have been disabled, so people can finally, uhm, request some custom avatars.

But hey, at least it's a a much more cumbersome process I guess. Hmmm.

What was it?

That's the one :brodex:
Is done.

since our Mighty Leader is unwilling to kill the bloody scaling, I took it upon myself to add 96-compliant transparent borders to the fan favorite Celtic Tales and Gold Box avatars.
Yeah to be honest, that seems to be the best long-term solution.

Well, at least now they have gone through a screening process - both content-wise (only games) and image-quality-wise.

Hm... I have zero experience with forum software, but could you perhaps look for references to "96" in xenforo code and replace it with a smaller value? It is ought to have something like "if X is less than 96, scale to 96" somewhere, does it not? Is it binary or in human-readable form like php or py?

edit: hm, page code states "192" for avatar width and height rather than 96, curious:

Code:
<a href="index.php?members/darkunderlord.5/" class="avatar Av5l" data-avatarhtml="true"><img src="data/avatars/l/0/5.jpg?1381609115" width="192" height="192" alt="DarkUnderlord" /></a>
