Nice list. No indy games like Prelude to Darkness or Spidersoft games? Also, you need to check out some more Ultima stuff like the Underworlds and 6&7.

One big problem:
NO INDIES. what the fuck? that pretty much annihilates the quality of your collection (quantity aside). To cap it all off, even among the non-indes you seem to colllect both the quality ones and just OUTRIGHT SHITTY ones.

Hey, I collect shitty RPGs too when they finally end up in the bargain bin ;) And yes, he needs to pick up some more indy games. Volourn doesn't like the Avernums because there isn't any romance ;)

Hmm, Lands of Lore 2 and 3, but not 1? I hope you've played it at least, as judging by your list you'd probably enjoy it.

Actually since you have the revised action oriented "The Bard's Tale" you should also have the three original Bard's Tale games -- at least mine came with them.

Long live the new flesh!
This is a good collection. Its really tough though to get some of the 80's titles. Good luck getting an early Ultima! I'll probably never get Ultima 1 or 2 in my collection. I should have bought them when I had the chance... Ebay has driven costs through the roof on early titles (Phantasie, anything Origin related, some classic SSI, etc).

oh, yeah that ain't all!

Yeah, you're right bout the ULTIMAs, but you don't have an idea what they sell at ebay here in germany. I don't want to buy the localized version of "U7- Black Gate" but the english one costs about 50€ - and you have to buy "Serpent's Isle" seperatly at the same price.

ULTIMA 8 is a lot cheaper but I really can't stand that game and never were able to raise my bid above 12€. ULTIMA 6 is very hard to come by atm.

I actually own U5 (on 5,25"), but I don't put in on the list, cause it's also 80ies, while the Goldbox Compilation at least comes on CD (it's the Wizard Worx one).

I also have (and played) LANDS OF LORE - Throne of Chaos, but it's only a crappy game cover CD and has no retail package. Same is true for SYSTEM SHOCK 1, DUSK OF THE GODS and some others.

I also own WASTELAND, DRAGON WARS and the first BARD'S TALE, but only on the Interplay 10th anniversary disc - my modern BT came without the original trilogy :-(

The thing with the Indies is a little difficult. You can't buy most of them boxed and I won't use a credit card to order from overseas - it's against my principles.

I consider some of the games "Indies" even if you don't: BANISHED or ETROM for example will never be calles "major" company games.

Please remove "SUMMONER" from that list since I seem to have sold my old box (didn't find it where I thought it was stored).

I have some dream games I would love to get my hands on (only 90ies for now)

- Blood Omen 1 - Legacy of Kain (ebay price about 50€)
- Starflight 1 (haven't seen the PC version in years)
- Starflight 2 - Trade Routes of Cloud Nebula (40-50€)
- a proper Wizardry 8 version (mine has no manual and a scratchy 3. disc) about 30€
- Daggerfall and Arena boxed (20€ each, but hard to come by)

BTW: Was ANACHRONOX ever released in a cardboard box in Europe? I only have the shitty "Premier Collection" version from Eidos...

bye

This statement could be true, providing his RPG collection is literally just feces smeared on a wall.

No Eye of the Beholder? At least 1 and 2 needs to be added to that collection asap!

Edit: And I wish I could get Anachronox working on my computer, but I just get a stupid unhandled exception no matter what I try...

There was an Ultima Collection on cd that came out several years ago that had everything up to U8 on it. I had it but probably tossed it. I'm not one for saving things past 2-3 years.

No point in buying that. You miss out the great printed manuals and cloth maps and whatnot.

I bought that Ultima collection, but already had cloth maps, etc from C64 versions. Downloads did the rest.

Nice collection, though theres plenty more to get.

You do not have the magic candles?
