I actually have quite high hopes for for FFXV, so this is nice. Sounds like a big incline with respect to the more recent outings, action-game combat non-withstanding

Final Fantasy XV is an action role-playing game with third-person shooter elements.[7][8] The player character is seen from a third-person perspective that will be adjusted depending on the weapon currently equipped.[8][9][10] The game's environments include kingdoms and villages, and allow for much freedom and interactivity: for example, objects can be destroyed and different paths may be chosen to reach a destination.[11] The world map is a wide, open field that the player can traverse on foot or by using a car, an airship or a chocobo.

The setting also seems incredibly interesting.

When's the last good console game SE made in house with their own employees? Only good games by them for a LONG time as far as I remember were outsourced or on handhelds.
Besides Bravely Default for 3DS, they did FFXII-2 & Ligthning Returns. They may not be classics, but they are solid games.

Both of which were made by tri-Ace:troll:
BD was also outsourced to a company called Silicon Studio, who also made the Final Fantasy Warriors of Light game and are now making BD's sequel. They also made a lot of the middleware Square is using in their new engine. Square's internal studios are pretty much useless these days, like Capcom they've bled away most of their top talent , guys like Yasumi Matsuno for example. The FF Tactcs/FF12/Bravely Default artist also left earlier this year.

Moving cross country because a psychic told you to and going through with it after all your best employees told you flat out they wouldn't move for you will do that to a company.

(No, sadly this is not an exaggeration. Wada was THAT bad at managing the company.)

With the PS4 being a PC in disguise, even moreso than the XBO, I think porting between the two machines will be very easy. A good way for publishers to rake a few more bucks without having to invest too much money into ports.

Considering that the PS4 OS is OpenBSD based, ports to MacOS X are probably even easier to make.

Cross country? They never left Tokyo bro, and it was really a more complex decision. They sold their extremely expensive building and rented a cheaper one. Not a good sign of their finances, but not the retarded thing you make it sound like.

I think we'll see FFX and X-2 HD on PC soon. Maybe FFIX. Not sure about FFXV. Console launch first, I guess.

All the FF games worth playing, you can play on an emulator at this point.

But those assholes WON'T PORT SECRET OF MANA 2.

Fucking cunts.
That still pisses me off. SoM2 is better than the original in pretty much every way, and a strong contender for best RPG to be released on the SNES, but for some reason it's never gotten an official port.

I much preferred the "free moving" combat of the first, actually.

Wouldn't mind seeing Final Fantasy released on the PC. I'm not going to invest any money in a console so the only way for me to play the new FF games is either via emulators or a PC release.
They can start with X and X-2.

I want an option to turn off the voice acting in X if they port it to PC. It'd still be one of my least favourite games, but it would be more playable without the constant:
LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!!
LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!!
LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!!
LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!!

LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!!
Every time you try and run from a battle.

You run from battle that often? O_o no wonder it's one of your least favorite games.

The battle system is one of the most boring in the series to me, so anything to get out of having to play a battle.

There's no real penalty for running either. In FF3 (NES, never played the DS one), trying to run generally got you immediately wiped out, or at least got a couple of your party killed. But that's not a criticism unique to FFX.

I thought the battle system in FFX was one of the best in the series, and one of the few with true TB combat. It had so much going for it, with the interesting addition of being able to switch between party members at will, it was just slightly botched in some areas.

The battle system in X is the only redeeming element of the game. Well, that and Auron.

Well, I'd also say the music. Just 'To Zanarkand', though melodramatic as hell, is possibly one of the most beautiful peaces ever composed for a game.
XV looks like the Gears of War of the FF series.
Except it doesn't have chest-high walls. Wait, that is all that defines gears of wars. How on earth do you make that
comparison?

I think it looks great, and it's the first FF-game in a looooong time I have any hopes for at all.
