Codex 2012 PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 BattleTech A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I only use adblock to remove the annoying ads on embedded youtube videos, have donated for adfree codex. But if you're taking requests, could you make the amazon buttons on the bottom of the page show even with adblock on like the gog one on top, I keep forgetting about them.

And I can browse this thread with adblock on, better look into how your 'fix' works w chrome/ghostery whatever. Hah, but I can't post with it on, gj.

I used to have Codex added to adblock's exception list, as well as all the sources of advertisements there to noscript's exceptions, so I could click some ads occasionally, just to help the site a bit. Then with the new forum engine and design came obnoxious advertisements put into the first post on the page and I decided I won't tolerate them.

Blocking adblock users from posting won't achieve anything because people who use it are not very likely to click on ads, even if you force them to see all the advertisements on the page. And there are other ways of blocking ads anyway.

Disabled adblock for a test, instantly got assaulted by flashing RISE OF MYTHOS FREE PVP PLAY NOW, some furries and even some popup window tried to launch but Firefox just blocked that, no idea what the fuck was that and I have zero incentive to find out. In other words, retarded ads like this are exactly the reason why adblock exists.

Codex 2012 MCA Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2
You blew all the money on coke and whores again? God damn it DU!

Even though I have paid for ad-free Codex, this would suck shit. Sometimes I browse without logging in, when in places where I can't leave any discriminating evidence of my online activity.

P.S. Posted with Adblock on.

You clearly hate this place.
i hate its shitposters and pathetic cowardly idiotic schadenfreude mentality.

besides:
Blocking adblock users from posting won't achieve anything because people who use it are not very likely to click on ads even if you force them to see all the advertisements on the page. And there are other ways of blocking ads anyway.

I never connect to any site without explicitly allowing its DNS alias in my firewall. Nearly every site tries to interact with facebook.com and twitter.com and googlewithmilliondifferentextensions.com. Fuck those tracker bots.

I missed the memo for this new campaign since I hardly ever visit the front page. My browser is set on permanent new posts. Do I get a new tag for contributing, thus adding to my NK general gangnam swag (shi bal)?

I'd like to see more posts in this thread from people who are actually using adblock.
I would be mildly butthurt. I've tried a few times in the past to stomach the ads, but got burned on a few occasions by the fucking noise ones (I think early in the morning, hungover, with the volume turned all the way up from drunken headbanging the night before), plus the ads fuck up the layout and are never, ever anything I'd click on or have any interest in. I've donated a couple of times in response to Codex calls for maintenance/upkeep support (not kickstarter BS), and would prefer that model rather than whatever tiny fraction of a shekel you're getting from me having to look at the abominations.

However, we've all seen your bare, antiseptically-empty home, so we know if anyone's getting golden toilets out of the fundraisers it has to be Taluntain - thus I think that most people would trust your judgment about what's needed for the site, considering the type/amount of traffic and the upkeep costs.

Hmm, no, that's why the option to donate to disable ads site-wide exists - so that those users who are bothered by ads for one reason or another can disable them in a way that is not detrimental to the site's ability to pay for the expenses said users' use of its resources create. AdBlock exists because it was created by people who think that they're entitled to have other people (those who don't use AdBlock) pay for their use of resources instead. And once everyone is using AdBlock, magical fairies will shower us with silver coins to pay the server bills, because obviously that's how it works in La-la-land.

Some ads do pay just for showing, so the "I don't click on ads so it doesn't matter if I block all of them" excuse still doesn't fly.

I hadn't realized that the "potato" shit was fully implemented, or that there was a 2014 fundraiser; this is what you fuckers get for disabling GD threads from appearing on the front page and forcing me to go there directly.

Anyway I'll spend my potato once the latest donation goes through and try to use the ad avoidance system you've set up.

If you're really going to do this, at least let people who have donated for no ads keep adblock turned on.

I have them disabled, I'm just irritated with having to whitelist the codex.
