I've been playing Gothic 3, Deus Ex, and Fallout. I've been thinking about playing PS:T a bit too.

How does SSII look with the mod (comparable to games from what year)? And what texture mod are you using?

I play with the only two SS2 texture mods in existance (Rebirth: Complemented Version + SHTUP), and they do relatively nothing, as they're both no more than 12MB combined.

Deus Ex however, is getting the royal treatment, as Project HDTP and New Vision bring the game up to 2004 standards. Unfortunately HDTP is only 70% complete, and NV is still unreleased.

I wouldn't say they do nothing.... The character models are much improved as are many of the smaller textures such as the writing on the walls, the casino & soda machines, etc. Just don't go in thinking its going to be some major graphical overhaul and I think you'll be alright. Still is one of the best "atmosphere" games ever made. Played it when it first came out with my headphones on in a dark room.... man that game freaked me out :D !!

No, NV first alpha was around for a limited time on torrents, but seems to be pulled back now. Will be back in late summer (or so is the talk on the forums)

Yeah, I read about the NV alpha being recalled to implement new texturing methods. Hopefully both mods are completely by the end of this summer, as DX is an awesome game but could really do with a graphical upgrade.

Is the BG moding scene still going strong. There was tons of stuff in development at one point, but it looked pretty complex to get everything running and I hated 2nd Ed. D&D, so I never got into it.
Yeah, in fact I'd say it's better than ever. One of the BG modders has "gone pro" sorta, and is building an entirely new game using a built-from-the-ground-up engine. Looks a lot like Baldur's Gate.

In addition, the actual mods you're referring to have finally gotten very polished. For example, it used to be that you had to install Tutu by hand, which was very error prone if you didn't track down exactly the right instructions. Also, there was often a crashing bug in Beregost with Tutu. As for BG2, there are tons of new NPCs and quests and dialogue, and much of it has been heavily debugged at this point. For the first time, I've been able to point & click my way through a few installs, and come out with some nicely modded & stable games.

One thing I didn't realize this time around was that the Baldurdash bug patch (an unofficial patch that just fixes everything -- typos, coding errors, and so on) has been taken over by G3 or one of the big modding sites, and they've fully enhanced it. It definitely makes the game a lot more playable. BG1 with Tutu takes a good number of mods to complete. But BG2 just needed three for me: the official patch; Banter Pack v6; and BG2 Fixpack v3.

What "leveling" mod are you using (if any)? The "character development" system seems horribly broken and tedious in Oblivion, and I know of several mods for it, but none that make me think "that is the one". Are you using one (AF Leveling etc.)?

Nothing at all, I figured OOO would fix al doobies. But I haven't gotten into the higher level regions yet, and I know that's where the problems lie.

Over there.
Just finished the UEF campaign in SupCom. I'm considering the other two campaigns, but from what I understand the units are identical, just with different graphics. Meh. I like the game overall, but as far as the campaigns go, it's a case of "if you've played one, you've played them all."

Still doing WoW/BC. Yeah, yeah, I know, but I play it as a social thing, not as a RPG.

I was playing C&C3 before picking up SupCom, but I think I need to give it some time. As it is now, I'd be too frustrated with the small maps among other things.

I still do the occasional flight in Flight Sim X, but I consider that more like Zen time than gameplaying.

The FFXII leveling system has one gigantic flaw: by 3/4 of the way through the game you have bought all the character upgrades, and probably filled out all the weapon skills you actually want as well. FFX was much better, in that you couldn't have every character get every upgrade, so they ended up actually being different in the end.

Hmmm I haven't played that far into the game so perhaps you are right. Still I think I might sell the game and get Ratchet & Clank, don't know which one though.

Hmm. I may not have been clear (can't quite tell from your response). I'm not referring to the scaling (which is where OOO comes in), but the character development system, which has issues of skill caps stalling your character's progress, weird multipliers and reliance on grinding.

BTW, Deadly Reflex 3.3 is out, and sounds fucking awesome:

No you have been clear, I meant the leveling stuff. I just figured I wouldn't notice the problems with it since OOO brings us a 'balanced' world. I honestly don't think about what my character is going to be and what skills I must use to level up to get the best multipliers and all that jazz, and I haven't really noticed any problems in past playthroughs (other than in generic OB, the trolls/bears/mountainlions do way too much damage and all creatures have way too much health, but I thought OOO fixed this).

Also cool@DR3.3!

I fluked out and found a mod called Must Train that completely removes usage based skill levelling. Apparently, used in conjunction with KCAS, it works very well (though it is still a WIP). Perfect for me as I find "use to increase" systems tedious at worst, mildly annoying at best.

Europa Universalis III multiplayer (the way it's meant to be played) on the weekends.
Hitman: Blood Money - finished it a while ago. Pretty good.
DotA, a WC3 map/mod - I've played it on and off for years.
Dreamlords (TBS with RTS combat MMO) - I got a trial account from a friend a few weeks ago. It was boring as hell, though you can't PvP on trial accounts so I missed out on that part.

I just beat the Starcraft BW campaign. I've been playing Jade Empire off and on for awhile, I was playing Silent STorm off and on before that. I don't know what I will play next, maybe some of the games I got that I never finished or buy some more games and never finish them either. I want a game thats really good and fun to play.

I'm having great time with Dwarf Fortress, even though I've never managed to have my fortress last longer than 3 years.

Replaying Morrowind (shame I know) with uber skilled magician.

From time to time I spend an hour with The Guild 2 or have a quick UT bloodbath.
There's still replays of PS:T and BG that I'm planning.
And on weekend evenings I have great time pvping in the EVE Online. I mean really great time.

Here ya go. Haven't been playing for a year or so, started again this week with some other friends and getting owned quite a bit now (bye, bye 1.7 K/D ratio). Still a lot of bugs in the game, and jets are still so ridiculously OP, too bad, but it's fun.
