I play with the only two SS2 texture mods in existance (Rebirth: Complemented Version + SHTUP), and they do relatively nothing, as they're both no more than 12MB combined.
Deus Ex however, is getting the royal treatment, as Project HDTP and New Vision bring the game up to 2004 standards. Unfortunately HDTP is only 70% complete, and NV is still unreleased.

No, NV first alpha was around for a limited time on torrents, but seems to be pulled back now. Will be back in late summer (or so is the talk on the forums)

Yeah, in fact I'd say it's better than ever. One of the BG modders has "gone pro" sorta, and is building an entirely new game using a built-from-the-ground-up engine. Looks a lot like Baldur's Gate.Deacdo said:Is the BG moding scene still going strong. There was tons of stuff in development at one point, but it looked pretty complex to get everything running and I hated 2nd Ed. D&D, so I never got into it.
Deacdo said:What "leveling" mod are you using (if any)? The "character development" system seems horribly broken and tedious in Oblivion, and I know of several mods for it, but none that make me think "that is the one". Are you using one (AF Leveling etc.)?
The FFXII leveling system has one gigantic flaw: by 3/4 of the way through the game you have bought all the character upgrades, and probably filled out all the weapon skills you actually want as well. FFX was much better, in that you couldn't have every character get every upgrade, so they ended up actually being different in the end.
Hmm. I may not have been clear (can't quite tell from your response). I'm not referring to the scaling (which is where OOO comes in), but the character development system, which has issues of skill caps stalling your character's progress, weird multipliers and reliance on grinding.JrK said:Deacdo said:What "leveling" mod are you using (if any)? Nothing at all, I figured OOO would fix al doobies. But I haven't gotten into the higher level regions yet, and I know that's where the problems lie.

BTW, Deadly Reflex 3.3 is out, and sounds fucking awesome:

I fluked out and found a mod called Must Train that completely removes usage based skill levelling. Apparently, used in conjunction with KCAS, it works very well (though it is still a WIP). Perfect for me as I find "use to increase" systems tedious at worst, mildly annoying at best.JrK said:Deacdo said:Hmm. I may not have been clear (can't quite tell from your response). No you have been clear, I meant the leveling stuff. I just figured I wouldn't notice the problems with it since OOO brings us a 'balanced' world. I honestly don't think about what my character is going to be and what skills I must use to level up to get the best multipliers and all that jazz, and I haven't really noticed any problems in past playthroughs (other than in generic OB, the trolls/bears/mountainlions do way too much damage and all creatures have way too much health, but I thought OOO fixed this).
Also cool@DR3.3!
Here ya go. Haven't been playing for a year or so, started again this week with some other friends and getting owned quite a bit now (bye, bye 1.7 K/D ratio). Still a lot of bugs in the game, and jets are still so ridiculously OP, too bad, but it's fun.psycojester said:Post some Bf2 stats Ryuken, i have the urge to obsessively compared my fighting e-penis to everybody without invoking plane tickets.
