How can we become notable?

The fact that sites that whore out to marketers and PR slime are considered notable and we aren't (I'm thinking of the Gearhead incident) infuriates me. What must a media source do to become notable? Is there some sort of national association that requires fees that the Codex can't afford or something? Is there any way to increase our credibility beyond that of a bunch of trolls (think Avellone cartoons)?

We already are notable. The fact that Wikipedia considers us to be not is surely a positive thing, no?

To be notable, wikipedia style, something apparently needs to be mentioned in an article on one of these fabled media sites with "editorial control" We should whore out and get the escapist or some other crap webmag to do an article on bitter cunts in gaming fandom, and focus it on the codex. Then we'll be notable!

Why on earth do you want the codex to be notable?
If you want to be part of a notable community, why don't you post on gamespot or something? I like things the way they are, just need a bit more indie focus.

Edit:

Also, I didn't know that link. Quite funny, actually.

Have telethons on public access channels, burn effigies of the Bethesda logo in public, create a cult dedicated to the coming of the multiheaded dicks and the imminent failure of the free market, or do a CRPG themed gay porn flick and call it Choices and Consequences of Anal Intercourse.

It appears the Codex's struggle is similar to our struggle. Sadly though, I can't see you guys winning yours, sorry to say. I have never met one person in real life in the past ten years that begs for something more to offer in RPG's, never. People these days are content with the games they play, not a single spark of indifference towards them, none. Only on the Codex have I seen such desperation on video games.

I, however, am able to convince people everyday about the evil of the Jews because allot of young white people today actually feel some kind of wrongness in air. They feel this wrongness deep down inside their soul but are incapable of placing it anywhere. That's where I come in and educate and fill that void of wrongness. I have seen with my own eyes that it is possible for me to unite our folk and to fill these voids.

You should all thank Vault Dweller for attempting to fulfill your hopes. If you love AoD, ask for more games by Iron Tower Studios. I'm 99% sure he won't hit mainstream, but you all should be happy. That's all that should matter to the Codex.

How lucky,I too am young, white and feel a wrongness in my soul. So far I had placed it on stupid young, white people who can't think for themselves and need you to decide their ideologies for them, but now I clearly see it should be on the Jews.

On Topic: I hope by notable you don't mean something like Gamespy or Gamespot. Have you seen the comments on their boards? If it ever becomes 'cool' to be part of the Codex, that's what these forums will turn into, no matter how much we bitchslap the idiots to make them leave. Maybe a middle ground can be achieved, but I don't think aiming for sites like the ones above is the way to do it.

No, this ideaology has always been a part of me, I haven't unearthed it until recently. If you knew what the Jews are all about and what the consequences of their actions will be many years from now, you might think twice about just thinking Jews as a little helpless persecuted poor people.

So, what are they all about? With quotations please.

Nice avatar, btw.

Well, I didn't mean you. I meant the people you have to teach where to place the blame. If you came to your conclusions on your own, even if you used other people's research and shit, that's not so bad, even if you wanted to barbecue all the big-nosed bastards.
And I don't see them as persecuted on this day and age, but I can't really see them as scheming, world ruling geniuses either when they can't keep rag-tag palestinian crazies from blowing up in their streets.

Wikipedia isn't notable. Why would we want to be notable for a site that isn't notable itself? AMIRITE

If the Codex wanted to become notable, they'd have to provide their own actual gaming news... not just clips of other gaming sites' reviews that they bitch about.

But they do provide articles and an occosional review, no? The newcomers always mention that the Oblivion review has drawned them here. What Im saying is that surely not only admins here have something to write about, so maybe give them a chance to say it? Basically, more articles.

Let's put it this way: The Codex couldn't even get an interview with a game one if it's own admins is developing!

I think that would be a bit pointless, given the amount of interaction the forum members have with VD about the game. There is already a truckload of info in those threads for readers to peruse.

Also, we're lazy shits and if it were to get done it would require VD doing some fake interview with himself. And then delightful uproar at the tackiness of doing that.
