I didn't find any option to search by name specifically, only within level ranges. What level is your pawn?
Right you are, I'm an asshole for telling you that option existed. Zombira is currently a L25 Sorceress and will stay L25 for at least 16 hours.

Thanks, I have 10 levels to go then.
Friend list me and hire her for free :)

Won't hiring a high lvl pawn fuck up the difficulty?

Also here is my party of beautiful people ATM:

Hiring pawns , who are higher level than your character would cost you a good amount of RC .

I came to this topic to say that , I fucking hate escort quests , delivering hydra's head was such a bullshit .

Also if you start on hard , don't get discouraged by oneshots in the beggining , you will quickly gain strength to fight enemies effectively .

Oh and if you want to play melee class without magic then stick with a fighter vocation , it's seems to be better than warrior .

Deep in your subconscious mind spreading lies.
Heh level 24, playing on hard, decided to go to dark arisen isle. Killed some re-skinned wolves, killed some super goblins and then something that looked like a giant version of death came along and one shoted one of my pawns. Don't know if it can just hit really hard or it's a special ability but the pawn died and melted instantly (literally melted into goo) then was removed from my party. So I said fuck it and ran for muh life.

So, on a more serious note, I'm trying to understand inclinations. Since I want to build a support/heal mage as my main pawn, I'd say the better one would be utilitarian but nexus sounds p.gud too, I just need to choose secondary pawns with the same inclination to synergize with it, if I understand it correctly.
As for the tertiary, I'd go with medicant or maybe challenger since I read that the medicant can be a nuisance. I need some monocled opinions, gentlemen!

I saw that shit and instantly got TFO of there. I mean, you see a giant death with like 10 bars of health at lvl 9, you run like hell, right?

Do you gain vocation exp when you hand in quests ?

I want the fighter rank 7 augment but I would rather fight monster with my Mystic Knight setup because it's a a lot better for solo play and so I'm wondering if it would be possible to gain 2 vocation ranks(from 5 to 7) just by switching to fighter when I'm about to hand in a quest.

You do get some vocation exp from quests, but it isn't a lot. I'd only really use quest turn ins to rank up for like, getting to rank 3 or so to unlock the basic useful shit for classes so you can actually play them instead of being a mage with no spells or whatever. If you're desperate to gain a particular augment your best bet is to massacre a lot of weak enemies, whatever the class is suited to. For a fighter your best bet is probably goblins or bandits, harpies and wolves for an archer, and undead for a mage. If you fight in the right area at night, you'll be fucking swarmed with enemies endlessly, so it goes fairly quickly.

If you're not that desperate, just play as whatever class you enjoy, and when you're like level 80 and have awesome weapons for every class, switch to whatever class and murder some mid-high level shit, you'll gain discipline very quickly.

In other news, I've killed off Grigori and started Bitterblack (because it's way more fun than the normal endgame.) So nice to finally have a real weapon that hurts things. Well, most things. Fucking bitterblack bosses too stronk. Not sure if I want to dive or dick around in the arena. Or just powergame to get myself a high tier weapon right away.

moving from 1 to 5 frames for a perfect block sounds super broken and I feel like I'll need it against bosses so I guess I'm going to try the quest thing and farm some goblins

Just go somewhere like the woods at night, you'll be drowning in goblins. Hell, if you really want to be a scumbag, stand in one of those healing fountains and let your pawns murder everything while you go make a sandwich or whatever.

Friends' pawns are free no matter the level. So you could in fact hire a friend's level 200 pawn at the start if you wanted to ruin the game for yourself.

Putting this in spoilers in case you dont wanna know more about that particular boss.
This is one of a couple of bosses that are attracted to corpses and a particular item increases their spawnchance as well if it is in your inventory. In case you didn't notice, enemy corpses do not despawn on the Island for this very reason. He only has two abilities, a sleep spell which knocks out the target and his scythe attack that instantly kills anyone. If it hits a pawn, it is immediately sent back to the rift. He despawns after a certain amount of time though and reloading the zone makes him despawn as well. The other two are a dragon and a giant wolf, those you have to kill or run away from.
Venturing into the Bitterblack Isle is something I'd rather do sooner than later, since outlevelling a lot of it kind of takes away from its charm. I went in there the first time when I was like level 20 and easily got through the first 5 or 6 areas (out of like 20). Just make sure to save regularly so getting buttraped by some of the harder enemies that can show up in the earlier areas won't be such a big deal. This giant dungeon alone is worth playing the game for in my opinion.

Now that I finally get to it BBI addresses a lot of my problems with the game. They self-consciously made a pseudo-Souls dungeon crawl expansion

they even put in a damn mimic

that goes away from the crap open world/offline MMO schema. This combat (and mantling-heavy platforming, diving and sprinting) system in a full blown roguelike would be completely amazing.

Unfortunately I think the most likely outcome of DD doing well on Steam (if it is, I dunno) is that we get a port of their f2p/p2w online multiplayer game that's AFAIK more like vanilla DD than BBI.

I'd advise anyone playing to race through the MQ as fast as possible avoiding all side content and ignoring the open world completely to unlock weapons that are good enough to get started in BBI, and I wish that Edward_R_Murrow still posted because he would have made me believe that instead of letting me hear people like the gay English Youtuber that went on about how DD night is so atmospheric and tense.

Nah. I mean I don't know about a level 200 pawn, but 10 levels or so, you're not really going to notice. I hired a heal bot 20 levels above me and I was still getting my ass kicked by big monsters and so forth. I mean I'm sure that it made goblins easier or whatever, but it doesn't ruin the fun.

Hiring pawns , who are higher level than your character would cost you a good amount of RC .
If they're on your friend list, they are free.

It looks somehow interesting but does anyone knows how much open world is this? Is it like completely sandbox or something more hub based?
The world feels very open with difficulty-based limits to your exploration (and the occasional locked door). You can immediately explore miles and miles away from the starting town if you want but you will probably be eaten.

It is "hublike" I guess. You will see people standing around town with punctuation marks over their heads. But it's not linear at all. It's definitely not "go to this town and do 3 quests, go to next town and do 3 quests there." You range around the map a lot. And the main quest doesn't hit you over the head. Some guy wants me to investigate some weird noises at the bottom of the well, is this part of the MQ? I heard some guy will pay me to hunt wyrms, is this part of the MQ? Some guy came up to me on the street and said there's a spy in the castle, is this part of the MQ? It feels good, very organic.

I honestly think BBI is the best dungeon I've ever explored in a game. The number of details, the pacing of it, and the atmosphere is all really well done. They hid a few things too well and it's lame that ranged characters are practically forced to cheese certain enemies from places where they can't be hit, but overall it's a fantastic crawl that rewards smart exploration and actually offers a solid challenge. I hope someone makes some awesome mods for it, even just spicing up the enemy placement could do wonders for someone who's been through it 4 or 5 times already like me.

Damned Registrations Does the difficulty on Normal ramp up? While I love the exhiliration of Hard for normal mobs, the "bosses" made me go back to Normal. So far nothing has been very challenging on Normal, but meh, at least it's fun.
