One of the best games no-one has played. If I get my copy back, I'll hope this patch fixes the random crashing during battles.

Wow, they finally finished it. Any truth to the rumors of a KOH2?

I tried that game and I didn't think much of it. Too many flaws and frustrating elements to make it worth while.

Were you using the 1.03 patch?

I find it OK in short doses but then it becomes repetitive. It's one game where the randomness and undeveloped starting cities works against it since every game ends up feeling the same.

I can't remember what version I was playing with, but it was more the gameplay elements that made it dull rather than CTDs or similar. The repetitiveness you mentioned, the battles and the AI were some of the things I was not happy with. It felt like they were very close to making a good game but just fell short of the mark. I remember the sieges were a bit of a joke when people were complaining that the gates didn't even work.

The battles could have used some work idd, and the AI was way too easy but I found it comfy enough to keep on playing. Though this patch should fix the AI issue according to the description.

I know this is an old thread, and (probably) an old thing to bring up, but does anyone know what happened to the official website? It all leads to ubisoft's home page.

Ubisoft doesn't love old games. Apparently a new site is in the works at Black Sea Studios (they have obtained the rights to the game for themselves now) but I can imagine they have their hands full now with Worldshift (and KoH 2?).
