It's really a good game if you have patience. Maybe the best grand campaign of all time.

Is it? I ordered it from Germany and it was not expensive at all.

Anyway, if you find it hard to get into the game, don't give up too early.
I was close to skipping this one after I had problems to see the point in the demo. Once you realized that this is not a chesslike game as panzer general - and more a simulation of civil war - it will all make sense. You can order your armies where to move but for a lot of reasons they might not execute your orders. This game tries to simulate real chain of command problems, hesitating commanders and so on.

If you like the graphics and you're into complex strategy games (not just pretending to be like the ), I am sure you will like this one.

If you have questions go over to ageod.com to meet a lot of folks who can never put it down.

Now isn't this a beautiful game? But on top of that it is more complex than anything you ever known and has very competent AI.

I tried playing through the tutorial but the UI was way too overwhelming for my simple mind :(

How long did you try? Because a couple of hours is not enough to understand this game. Especially if you're used to strategy games with more chesslike gameplay (I played game like PG before where there were you could pretty much predict what was going to happen).

Tbh I wonder who is not feeling overwhelmed by this game. After the first day I went myself like "I like complex games but this one is too complex". It got better in the subsequent days when I understood what I have to care about and what is not so important. After a while you know what you have to do and you begin to discover the marvels of the Grand Campaign.

My advice is to take a break and try again another day. As long as you don't understand how the game works it is easy to get frustrated and miss out on a real gem.

there are a lot of really good folks, who will always help you with strategy questions. In fact we are still discovering a lot of new details every month.
