At best Fallout 3 will be the blacksheep of the series: An oddity played only for completion's sake by those who absolutely adore the original games.
There are starting to be a few too many of these...

Fallout 3 will balance out the scales. Two on the good side, one in the middle, and two on the bad. One more stinker -- and there will be another -- and I won't be able to call myself a Fallout fan anymore. It's like HG's Serbia thing. They're fighting us with demographics.

Back at the top of the heap of ridiculously specialised internet trolls, because of a comment from a guy whose greatest claim to fame is having the same name as s guy who draws fundamentalist comic strips .

if a guy needed just 30 minutes to understand how shitty the game is I simply can't imagine how shitty the whole game is.

30 minutes is plenty of time to make a judgment on a game. Also he had like one character dialog interaction I assume so he can make a judgment on that too.

To be fair, if some made a judgement on, say, the first half hour of Fallout 2, they would call it a boring, tedious game where you go around poking (when you're lucky enough to hit) giant ants and scorpians with a spear.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
That's pretty accurate, Fallout 2 is awful shit full of awful jokes that forms an awful whole full of awful awfulness. God, Fallout 2 sucks. How did they manage to make such an uninspired game after FO 1 is quite beyond me. Fallout 2 is a lot like Bethesda.

"Hey know what would be cool? TRIBALS. Hey, know what would be cool? LOL SLAVERS. Hey, hey... how about, yeah, CHINAMEN. AND SCIENTOLOGY. Man this game will be so AWESOME! MONTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY"

How could they staffed that shitty Fallout2 with more dialogues? How could they include dialogue checks in that goddamn Fallout 2? How could they stay true to Fallout canons and make it a turn-based game with lots of peaceful solutions and without retarded shit like shooter gameplay, megaton and fatman?

Judging from the previews, I guess the main difference between FO2 and FO3 will be that the Temple of Trials and Arroyo made me think "Well, this looks, feels and plays like the first one, just not as good.", whereas Megaton will probably make me think "Well, this isn't as good as the first one and it doesn't look, feel, or play like it either.".

Fallout 2 had an awful premise and terrible starting locations in my opinion, but the familiarity of everything else (character creation, art direction, dialog system, combat, etc.) lead me to believe that the things I loved about the original were bound to set in sooner, or later. And that certainly was the case, no matter how reference ridden and joke infested some of the later locations were. I'm not saying that FO2, with its recycled content and negligibly minor improvements was actually an ideal sequel in terms of gameplay, but at least it wasn't a console shooter.

So? After 200 years everything broke and the only natural solution would be to live off the land. The tribals weren't savages; look at the conversations you have with them, they all speak as if though civilized. You have to move around for food and they wouldn't have the technology or the need to build proper houses or weapons. And what's wrong with slavers? In anarchy it would only be logical to force someone to work for you if you have a bigger gun. Can't recall exactly the hubolist or what's it called part but it sounds reasonable for people to seek comfort in form of religion in a world of complete poverty and violence.

Are you guys actually surprised that they bash the Codex, and NMA? It's rather logical. Thread after thread on these two sites bash these guys then you guys act all self righteous, and hurt because they go down to our level and bash the sites. L0L

I wonder if the ghoul bartender will tell unfunny stories, fail at sarcasm, know things and will silently listen to PC's whining like all bartenders do.

You cant be serious. This is like trying to come up with justifications for giant gundams in anime, or writing a Science of Star Trek book.

The only bartender I met was joking along with this guy who'd broken some other guy's face open earlier in the night. He was giving me shit about not saying "please" when I'd asked her "do you have change?" But I don't think she knew he'd broken the guys face open earlier in the night. Still it was an awkward situation so I just smiled and said "oh, my bad, please?"

See if I were a bartender, even a video game bartender, I would have walked away during that story, just as I skimmed through your post since I had no interest in it.

If I were a bartender my muscles would intimidate female costumers.
