Amidst the bull about Bioshock asking mature questions and boob-wiggling games and hardcore shooters comes today's truth... regarding Fallout 2...

It deserves a spot on this list because it possess a rare intelligence and wit that would fly over the head of younger players...

Don't think these cool guys know that the Witcher exists... probably mentioned Fallout 2 due to the third one coming out... or something.

I'll go get the wine. What a funny term, "Mature," born of a ratings system designed by an industry whose most visible goal these days is to seem as simultaneously extreme and grown-up as possible. Not as funny as how awkwardly injected "adult EYES only" comes off, keeping it from sounding like the death-knell rating.

Anyway, at least they named FO2, instead of pulling another "it's not out yet, but we couldn't resist."

Well... that too perhaps. But it was the sex scene that everyone reacted on...

a bit of (same sex) cuddling does not a sex scene make (unless you are a prudent pubescent american teenager who gets off of dry-humping).

the wiping out of an entire species doesn't add any maturity to the game, as the choice is absolutely disconnected and has no moral or emotional impact on the player or character.
all the killing before you arrive at that choice is more adult than the choice itself, and even it doesn't add the slightest bit of maturity to the game.
Or prostitution.
there is no prostitution in mass effect, but i guess this counts, as you have to be a grown-up to realize the difference.

Yes, there was. It just wasn't IN YOUR FACE THIS IS PROSTITUTION like other games ala, say, the NWN OC.

Volourn is referring to the asari woman on the citadel who you could do if you did those missions for her. I forgot exactly what she was called but she's basically a rip off of Inara from Firefly.

There's an uncomfortable strain in Kaiserin's... ah, nevermind.

The prostitution in PS:T is better than in ME. And I haven't even played ME.

DI can you stop mentioning Kaiserin every five seconds. It's annoying as all hell, if I could come through this computer I would.

ME is shit. I actually stopped playing it when one of the characters went off on one about how mixing species makes a species stronger and if a species stays pure it weakens and dies. It even went as far as saying that being called a "pureblood" is a severe insult where it comes from.

I play games to be entertained, not to be bombarded with liberal propaganda - I get enough of that on the fucking TV. I could actually feel the bile rising to the back of my throat, so I turned the shit off and never played it again. It was pretty shit anyway to be honest.

o rly?
iirc there is absolutely no mention of consorts fucking anyone for money, or fucking being amongst the services they offer, whether direct, or implied... sure could be wrong though, as it's been quite a while since i played it, and it wasn't that memorable in the first place.

as for companions, they aren't exactly prostitutes either... see heart of gold.

As for prostitutes, they aren't exactly prostitutes either, ask any escort.

Why does everybody bash the plot of Bioshock so hard anyway? I thought it was actually a pretty well done game from an art design and story perspective, even if it was a dumbed down system shock otherwise. Lots of fun Ayn Rand hijinx to be had.

Not sure if I'm remembering right but, if you aren't happy with her little speech at the end of her quest, she fucks you.
