In fairness, given the ways Kindred and mortal society overlap, this is basically what I expect the Anarchs to be in 2019 (assuming the World of Darkness correlates to real world developments).

WTF you are talking about? He's a fucking vampire who kills people to survive. Is he going to ask for enthusiastic consent before drinking someone's blood? Whoops, the enforcers of the masquerade aren't going to look kindly at that.

And what about muh tranny pronouns in the world where fucking tzimisce roam the streets waving their seventeen dicks and flapping their five vaginas all at once because vicissitude?

No idea how they're going to play it. Given how his character is described in the profile, I would assume that he would prefer to take a True Blood approach where vampires end the Masquerade, live among humans openly, and obtain blood consensually.

Obviously, other factions like the Camarilla (and possibly more traditionalist anarchs) would want to kill him in this scenario and would tap the PC to be their cats paw.

I am seeing this just now and HOOOLY FUCKING SHEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

That a Bloodlines 2 is getting made with Brian on it at all, I will just shut down my center of logic and simply enjoy the news for a while, before... no, no bad words. Amazing fucking shit.

Well, SJW is a part of the new age, but this doesn`t mean that the game has to fully embrace it.
The game plays in a dark and sinful world.
This could imply to show all the not so attractive sides of it.
If the game takes everything serious of our new troubled age then it will show the many facetes which shines behind the dark corners.
And I mean all social and political standpoints.

Mitsoda from Eurogamer:
"We identified what we needed to do, things we really needed to improve. Obviously combat was one of the things from the first one that was really not very good. But also the tone of the game - it's 2019 now. We have to update the tone, we're not going to make a 2004 game in 2019, we're going to approach subjects a little differently and with a lot more research and respect than was done back then."

This right there tells me everything I need to know about this game... :negative:

It's gonna be terrible if they shove in all sorts of hamfisted agendas, sure, but if he's referring to less stupid fan service a la VV's outfit I'm all for it. Replaying Bloodlines like PrimeJunta I still liked most of it - the game oozes atmosphere and is maybe the best game I've ever played in terms of enforcing a coherent, immersive mood that just hits so many right buttons - but some of the teenage-whank was ultracringy to relive as an adult. Reminded me a lot of the edgy vampire-larpers that hung around in my local gaming store or those moba skins made for 14-year-olds who dream about a waifu experience with their favourite hero

While the scandal about the infamous Siege of Dragonspear dialog line was WAY overblown, the bullshit from the Vampire rulebooks I have seen copy/pasted here is really, really, cringeworthy.
It's not even as if they were trying to SJWs, but it oozes of the absolute fear of offending just anyone. In that case, don't make games or rulebooks about vampires, ffs.

Also, doesn't it retcon the entire Gehenna thing that was about to happen in the first game IIRC ?

From the v5 ruleset:

V5 Timeline

Research done by Beckett and his allies seems to suggest that Gehenna-like events are cyclical and have appeared throughout history.

The culmination of events in the 2000s, including the Red Star, the Week of Nightmares, the rise of Thin-bloods, the Withering and the Beckoning has lead some the Kindred to believe that Gehenna has begun, but not as the apocalyptic event which would smother civilization they had imagined.

Instead, elders are drawn to the East and vanish. The Sabbat believes that they fight in the Gehenna War against the ancients and has led a mass exodus to the Middle East and the East European Plane to aid them to slay the Antediluvians.

this. plus if they keep word on full modding support who really cares about what they stuff into their game? a vampire game with a powerful sdk is all i want. the one for bloodlines is an amazing achievement and a work of dedication, but it still and most probably never will support custom rigs and animations. in my fabulously optimistic brain i imagine a moddable game like the elder scrolls or nwn series.

It wasn't overblown at all. It was not just the in-game tranny. They also gave an interview saying how problematic the BG2 characters were, and how everything would change now that they were pulling the strings. In effect, they bought a beloved IP and proceeded to inform us how awful they thought it was, disrespecting both the IP and the more traditional part of the vast fanbase. If that's not hubris, then I do not know what hubris is. Beamdog deserved all they got and more.

Oh, yeah, good luck to Paradox btw.

PS. It's funny hearing them say "it's 2019". Yes, it is 2019, which is not pre-2017. And they said that I lived in the past.

The game will feature:
  • Post-op Toreador trannies
  • Brujah Antifa feminists
  • Some evil fascist bosses to defeat: Trump, Bolsonaro, Erdogan, and Putin
  • The wall, which must be destroyed because it is the main obstacle to the advance of the Sabbat on American soil
  • Zoë Quinn, as a lesbian romanceable companion
  • Kendo’s cult: Kendo is the black leader of a cult and he is worshiped by his sissy cucks
It is going to be great!

Oh, boy, another "I'm like totally mature now I'm not interested in tits anymore, my interests are on a higher level than that" pseudo-intellectual, wanna-fit in with the adults low-T tard.

Well, you know what they say, if it looks like a cuck and sounds like a cuck it must be a cuck.

It's gonna be terrible if they shove in all sorts of hamfisted agendas, sure,

What a limp-wristed disclaimer. Just put that in to give some legitimacy to you crying about being hurt by tits, didn't you? I bet no SJW agenda would bother you anywhere as much as some tits... ah, sorry, fan service, because of course, tits=fan service. In fact I'm sure you'd even defend it with the usual faggot response "what bro just ignore it if you don't like it what are you homophone lol".

Fake news! I'm massively interested in tits. I'm also massively interested in cunts but you don't see me asking for more of them in my cereal. In my porn selection however they are usually very welcome but I haven't wanked to video games since I was the aforementioned 14

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2: “It’s definitely taking political stances on what we think are right and wrong”

“I feel like the politics have changed obviously, so I think the first game was kind of, of its time. So now the politics have moved on so we’re trying to write to the politics of now.

“She also said that they’re trying to broaden Bloodlines 2 from the more masculine power fantasy of the original, so that it appeals to way more people this time.”

Give me a minute while I get a bucket of popcorns to see the meltdown.

You just made that up, right?

Certainly doesn't come from their website, nor a google search finds any match. But nowadays, telling trolling from truth is real hard.

A stripper wearing a revealing outfit, oh the humanity.

She's a dancer.

Very Josh of you, but VV's concept is sensible given the setting, and an odd example to use. Gratuitous would be the poster sidequests they phoned in because they made extra assets they didn't have a use for.

Eh, it's an obscure collectathon sidequest a la GTA. Don't really mind that one

EDIT: You know for a fact that Josh doesn't wank to video games?

By the way, I actively oppose sexualization of characters unless that's a fundamental part of their design. I fought the valkyrie design for Seven Sorrows every step of the way. During the development of Black Hound, I had to repeatedly call attention to the fact that male versions of armor were absurdly different from the female versions. A suit of hide armor on a male human looked like it came from an eskimo. The same suit put on a female human looked like an Amazonian bikini.

If anyone out there didn't know this, I'll let you in on an internet secret: there are many pictures on the internet of women wearing less than a bikini!!! You don't even have to buy a game to look at them!!!

However, since's VV's outfit is in fact a fundamental part of her design it should hypothetically get the Sawyer seal of approval. :M

It's a joke about how strippers prefer to be called dancers that's referenced in-game when she gets offended if you insist on pressing the issue after she "corrects" you. :)
