If you play TB be sure to add proper flanking mod.

To put it short: Perfect.

I mean, a little easy... the AI is not prepared for it, but...

TB feels really good. Lets you consider things and really notice how everything plays out. I'm getting a deeper understanding of what's going on and it feels much more strategic. Actually combat feels a bit easier this time around, even though I upped the difficulty. I don't think it's easier, I think I'm just making less tactical errors now in TB. I'm only on chapter 2 now but so far none of the encounters feel too 'trashy' or like I want to rush through them.

Off course TB mod makes it much easier than rtwp since combat resolution happens in rounds anyway just in RTWP you have to control it all at once during short time span and in TB you can take all the time you want, RTWP is obviously harder to master than TB

For pathfinding in TB, you can mess with collision detection (or disable it if that's your thang)
When you manage to memory muscle alt + e , alt + f , alt +d, it's pretty quick

So Hap (or anyone else) I’ve got this Dragonkind III (Black) belt. Is it worth messing around with? What does it stack with?

More importantly what it doesn't stack with: your weapon.

But having 5/6 max AB attacks can be neat for a 1/2 BAB caster if you want to play a muscle wizard, I guess. And you can still cast spells.

Does it stack with Frighful?

You can set the stops of RTwP as fine as you want it. Control is a non-issue. Main difference in RTwP is hitting a moving target vs mob just sitting there waiting to be hit in TB. I used to prefer TB, but now it's just too immersion breaking.

I've always got things to do with my straight Bard, no need for Thundercaller. You can just fight during trash fights to add another flanker if you have to, but by midgame you'll have enough spells/at will items to just cast if you'd prefer to do that.

And yes, I've been convinced that ranged is also viable since I've now got Jub doing good damage with xbows. You'll have positioning issues tho. Shout, Greater is very good.

So I'm going out with a bang and taking on InEffect at my home (GoG) forum.

He's laughing and calling me casual (in the face of the 5 unfair pics I attached). Already let the Stinking Cloud out of the bag as well.

you both suck at naming your test characters though.

damn desiderius post the tristan melee dps build to shut him!
tbh I wouldn't call stacking everything on a char to do melee a build. it's just competent party play. I did same with Harrim in various ways (because I love dwarfs) but it doesn't make him an ideal character to make a melee dude out still.

I also always liked how he doesn't take 20 on casting stat on his casters; which is a mystery to me. Guess same reasons why he things Octavia is bad cause she has bad CON; and for me if she had 1 unmodified hitpoint, it wouldn't change anything in my play.

Desiderius (and everyone else), how do you generally prioritize ranking up the kingdom vs adventuring? One rank up per month and adventuring the rest of the time? Or?

the game generally gently nudges you into fully exploring one main area (you can see them on big map, like narlmarches, silverstep lake etc.) then rank up; then quests take you to next one.

Ranking up and artisans before everything else. I didnt explore much at all this time throughout unless I had to (Barrow cash). You can get most of it done while doing companion/artisan quests. Kamelands upgrade makes exploring faster in owned lands, immunity projects also makes fighting easier in owned lands.

Cheers for all the answers.

Yes, that's what (I think) I did last time, but I was not very happy with the speed I was ranking up with. It was a bit slow, I got the masterpieces late, and I didn't reach top rank for everything at the end.

Of course, I was a complete noob, but still.
